I put in a new Pioneer Radio and I pulled the factory one. My car is a 91 ES Stealth. After all was said and done everything works BUT, every time I shut the car off the radio loses all it's settings like it has no memory. Here's what I think, I don't have it connected to a continuious power source/ wire Where have people tapped to get this line? What color might it be. I thought it was a large blue line in the radio harness but that must have been the accessory one. Do I just need to run one right from the battery post? Thanks for any help. Tim

Did you use an adapter harness? All the wires should match up. The constant 12v. is the yellow.

got a voltmeter or test light? Just check the wires to find out which one stays hot when the key is off. Or ground the radio, twist the two power wires together, then with the key off touch it to each wire until the power comes on. That should be your constant power. It will probably be orange or yellow. If you can't find a wire and you have the two cig outlets, try tapping into the front one, I think that is powered all the time, and it would be easy access for the radio connection.

It isn't on a 92. The ACC 12V outlet loses power when the ignition is off. Most annoying when using an inverter to power a batteryless laptop.

I think Pioneer radios have an orange wire that needs constant power. You'll need to run this wire to a constant power source. In my old crappy wiring days, I'd hook this wire to the dome light fuse, but I'm not much of an electronics wizard. later, Curt

Here is a few answers... Yes I used the wire harness from the Pioneer kit. Yes the Pioneer wire is yellow that needs constant voltage. (that's the radio side) I need what the wire would be from the car.. My cig lighter which I thought of too as a power source has issues with blowing fuses. I am unsure of the problem with that.....But I need to get a new one or fix mine so I can use my cell phone charger. So curt has the best answer overall "the Dome light wire"
See with the stock radio , the radio must have had some continual power source due to my clock in the radio. But Wire for wire I matched up . There were a set of wires for front speakers which I didn't use . A Pink wire for a power antena. Not used my car has none. So go figure.... I haven't blown any fuses at all. Any more suggestions???? Tim

Oh ,BTW I when I have a moment I will use my voltmeter. And see if I get an answer that way.

Check all the fuses, there might be one under the hood. I don't rememeber if our cars have one under the or not some cars do.
I just looked at the power diagram and it looks like fuse #19 (10A) is the constant power for the radio.
