We recently just sent out a small packet via snail mail about the Upper Midwest Gathering to help generate some more interest. We are targetting mostly newer members who have never attended or heard about the event. If you do not receive one of these packets, don't be offended, it's just because you are either already signed up, or have past knowledge about the UMG... Just trying to save a few bucks and target certain W3SI members who may not know much about the event.

Plenty of people seem to be going and it always has been a good event looking at past gathering pictures. I wanted to go last year but I found out too late.

How late can I sign up? Will any hotel rooms be left late in the game?

My problem is my wife's 40 week due date for the baby is one week ahead of this event. According to the baby training course most first time women go long on the due date. So most likely the baby will be born during or after the event.

If the baby comes early I could maybe go if no one has a problem with a newborn baby being around. If the baby hasn't come yet I can't go an hour away from Elmbrook hospital, or can I? First stage of labor lasts 8-14 hours so I could drive back if the OB allowed the trip.

I shouldn't say this, but you can decide the day of the UMG to come and still get in on all the action. The resort has never been booked out, but some years, you might be stuck with a more fancy and expensive room than you'd like, because the cheaper rooms always book first.

There are no sign-up fees for the UMG, so you can just show up if you want. Since your wife is having a baby, you'll obviously not know until late in the game if you can come, and thats completly cool. I just ask that if other people know they are coming, let us know so we can add you to the list and plan accordingly with restaurant reservations and things like that.
