Brandon I was thinking that idea may work, started doing some math... it was only like 70 bucks extra per person driving from GB: to take the ferry (round trip)... however the pain in the ass is it doesn't leave til 1:15 in the afternoon and gets there at 6:15.. plus its another 2 hours to drive from ludington to st joseph, so you wouldn't hit the hotel til like 9oclock.
4 hours on the boat as well... might as well try to get a route going around Chicago, Joe you should talk with your crew down therea nd see what they got lined up for us.

Hey everyone, few questions since the big event is next week. Anyone know the rate at the hotel? I have Thursday/Friday off but don't know that I can afford 4 nights as I seem to be a little worse for wear on the pocket-book after UMG (Chubby's? , I'm thinking just getting a room Friday/Saturday. Who is going to be down Wednesday/Thursday? I'm planning on driving down even if I don't get a room and hopefully hooking up with some of you guys down there. I was thinking Wednesday hit the town a bit grab some drinks or whatever and I would like to go check out the drag races and road course Thursday, so anyone up for all that? Hey, two more things, almost done. Remember Steve from UMG, he had the white 1st gen with the big custom spoiler on the back? He registered on the forums but I haven't seen him post yet. He was supposed to send me an e-mail and never did (bastard). You out there Steve or does anyone else have his contact info or know if he is still attending the NG? Last thing! John! Don't forget to throw those DOHC heads in your car and bring them down since you didn't need them. I wouldn't mind trying to turn those around at the NG and make a little loot. Thanks everyone, see you at the NG! Bret

Yikes, I went to sign up today and they never posted anywhere that any time after May 1st was another $20 charge. That's $60 for me, $25 for my guest, and another $20 for their slush fund so $105? No thanks. I'm just going to get the hotel and come down and see everyone. Most of the questions above still apply so answer away, although I think I'll have to stay at an "alternate hotel" now. Is the hotel still that Best Value Inn? If so there is a Days Inn that is walking distance, let me know. I'll keep you all posted.
Thanks,
Bret

We'll, for anyone not staying at the "official" hotel. I set up a group rate at the neighbor hotel. It's about a stones throw away, easily walking distance. It's the Day's Inn. The rate I got them to give car show attendees was 49.99/night. Not sure what the rate is on the "official" hotel but their usual rate was 59.99 so 10 bucks off not so bad.
The hotel is the Day's Inn, 269-925-7021, ask for Harry, if he is not in just say "car show".

Just wanted to thank everyone who made the journey, what a blast! And a big congrats for Ver Fer taking 1st in the stock MAS group at the drags! Way to go man -- nice big a$$ trophy as well! What was it Matt, 12.4?) Hoping everyone made it home okay despite the caranage. I'll burn my pix and get them to Matty ASAP. Personal big thanks to Matt for helping me get my alky light and datalogger working -- 19lbs with no knock is fun. I made it home around Midnight Saturday night and then was lucky enough to deal with that storm that hit Hartford on the way back from Long Lake (where we dropped Zack for the week-long BS camp). Freaked my daughter and wife out but good. Then I freaked as I realized the brakes in the burb we suddenly grinding... nursed it to the Doctor last night. <sigh> It never ends... Soooooooooooooo... just how hard is it to install a clutch on these Behemoths? Best, SJ

White bikini was yellow last year.
I have to go through my 400+ pics and set up a place for me to host them all. They'll be up in a day or two.

Hope you guys all made it back safely, and had fun. Please email me the links when you have a chance, I am buried here today and would love to see them but have not time. It's like they held all this stuff until I got back... WTF? I have a few you'll like on my car... BTW, in your absence, at least one Adam-ism flowed out into the conversation each day -- unprompted I might add. SJ

I made it back as well, the car still has a ton of stuff in it, as I was WAY too tired to unload it. I will do that tonight.

I'm alive. Warped rotors FTL. Bolt came out of front of A-arm, a-arm hit road while going 40 mph, ripped a-arm out of back rubber mount. wheel stuffed itself up into wheel well and locked up. snapped sway bar linkage, raped tire, cracked side skirt and bent fender. also destroyed inner cv boot on half shaft. pwned. qualified in stock mas drags, was promptly kicked out for breaking like a birch. as a bonus my second gear now grinds 75% of the time during engagement. trans gets to come out for a 3rd time.

My best qualifying time was a 12.5x ,but the best run in the quick 8 was a 12.8x. The times of other cars where faster except maybe the first run the other guy red lighted and I didn't really push it hard after it saw the red light. The only reason I won was because of my reaction time.

way to go ver fer. I told you that greddy Type-S added horsepower. http://mi3si.org/gatherings/ng06/index31.htmlindex. I saw SJ & underhood of car, and Jon's rims in there for sure. there are others as well. Still only 3 sightings of the white bikini. I was glad to see that she did not put on any insulation for the winter months in michigan. (pretty much a 'round about way of saying I'd still do her.)
