Good morning campers:
Heres a quick looksy at the 2008 season:
April:
Road America HPDE Event
Date April 12th & 13th (to be confirmed)
Elkhart Lake, WI
May:
Upper Midwest Gathering
Tentative Date May 16th - 18th
Wisconsin Dells
June:
National Gathering
June 17th 22nd
Memphis, TN
July:
Open*
August:
Green Bay Gathering ?
All Mitsu Cookout - TBD
Open ?*
September:
Rural Cruise
Date TBD
Kettle Moraine National Forest
October:
Road America MFBA Event -- NOT GOING TO HAPPEN??????
Date TBD
Elkhart Lake, WI
Weve been in talks with Jackie about a joint W3SI/Chicagoland-chapter event. We have discussed a night at GLD and then hitting a restaurant.
It would appear our best month for this event would be in July. We are concerned about the carnage, as well as lack of funds after the National Gathering, but besides Linus event, August seems to always be nuts with vacations, other events and functions, prep for school, et al, that keep us spread out and hard to plan a get together.
So, give us your thoughts. If July sounds like a winner, well look into something mid-to late month right away.
Best,

Does this mean it's time to start preparing the car to come out of hibernation?
In the past the UMG has been the weekend before memorial day, but I don't know that it's set in stone. I think it all depends on the date for the Automation car show. _________________ Confucius say "Man who run behind car get exhausted, man who run in front of car get tired." Yep. I really haven't started planning it yet, but I'm 99% sure the Upper Midwest Gathering will be May 16-18 this year.
I'm still hibernating for winter.

I'm doing marketing for rockauto.com this spring and summer so I'll probably be hearing about/attending a lot of car shows. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on the schedule. _________________ www.rockauto.com

Tonia and I should be in, it was a pretty fantastic time last year, and I got 2 trophies for the car show which is cool.

Not to be confused with the UMG in WI Dells in May. _________________ Confucius say "Man who run behind car get exhausted, man who run in front of car get tired." Unless we are talking about our cars. Then Confucius say "man who run is going to get another beer." |

I'm even thinking about expanding the All Mitsu Cookout to a full weekend in hopes to get more out of towners there like you turkeys. You have no idea how cool it is to see all of those hot Mitsus lined up.
The UMG will be May 16-18, but I'm still working on some details and the web stuff, so you can't quit sign up for it yet. Hopefully in the next week or so I'll get things finalized.
When will it warm up........

Crap. if this is the 16-18th, I may miss a portion of it. I will have to wait and see exactly when my exams end up being scheduled, but I have a possibility of having an exam friday and/or saturday. _________________
