Ok, I have the 1.13 version and the 1.39 version of e-manage software and main unit software. apparently 1.20 and 1.40 are for the gold version which is not in the states yet, and requires sodering of components in the main unit to use. This begs the question as to why in the hell it came with my CD, but whatever. So I will try to use those versions of the software tonight. If that does not work I will be slapping the interior panels back on, and washing the car in prep for the UMG. I'm not in a hurry to make this stuff work, I just thought it would be nice to see 16~17 psi for the UMG. When you hurry you make mistakes, so I'll take my time. No worries mate. EDIT: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... eName=WDVWwhadda think Greg? Can we fix it?

I don't think we can fix it, but if you blow your motor up, I think I know a cheep way to get another one.

I won't blow the motor. I've got the malfunctioning E-manage super tuning system and 125% injector duty cycles at 11 psi. shit don't phaze me.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYAH!!! I have one 90% functioning E-manage. I had to ditch my new version that should not have come with my blue e-manage (I got the gold version drivers) and turn off the palm hotsync and she fired right up. <- me It doesn't seem to be able to find RPM, though. So I have to see if I missed a setting or calibration, or if my wire is just on the wrong damn pin. It just says Zero for rpm... But it finds Air flow in and out, % adjustment. It seems to be able to find the injectors, it also reads the boost sensor signal, and throttle position. Though I do seem to have to reset throttle position every time I start the car. I'm sure that's just cause I haven't saved my settings to the main unit or something. I'm doing the happy dance, I'm doing the happy dance!

Ok, So I buzzed around in the car last night and had a good time playing with the e-manage, but I have abso-freaking-lutely no Idea what I'm doing with it. I have to get the RPM thing worked out before i start doing anything more than logging boost with it, any-who. I ran around to take care of mortgage things, and then buzzed up on the highway to double check the error codes for the e-manage to see if it would throw any. It did not. which really makes me wonder why it's not throwing an RPM error. I think it's a calibration issue. Greg, which wire (ECU PIN) do you tap for the RPM on the ARC? or don't you tap a wire for that thing? I saw a BRIGHT yellow supra that was all body-kitted-up blasting down the highway the opposite direction, but by the time I got off, and back on he was long gone. I also saw a white MR-2 with a queer scoop and decails turning in on Alpine. I've run into him before, and I seem to remember him having a problem with the whole "Clutch, gas, and gear select" all at the same time. Brett you know any of these guys? So Today at 5:30 she goes in for an alignment, then I will have all the panels back on her, then wash her, and load my stuff and be ready to leave from work for the weekend. UMG or BUST. Where can I get one of these hand held 5 channel radios that every one uses. Or is there any extras? I ended up stoping by Craig's house last night and showing him the E-manage. Instead we both got Drunk with Andy's wife. When Andy got home he was proud of us. Then I went to Taco Bell. Very good stuff. Greg are we making any 2 AM runs to the border while we're in the Dells?

Yes, 2AM runs are a must. ...but I don't know if the Bell in the Dells is open that late.
I can't believe I remember this, but the RPM wire is pin 58, but I don't remember what color the wire is... Letcha know when I get home.

If we can find a brick, we can open a taco bell.
I think I may have found my problem. I do not believe that I clipped a white wire on PIN 58 for my rpm signal... I'll have to check that when I get home. The ECU PIN readout for the bastard ECU on stealth 316 is down right now, so I can't veiw the pin numbers. I believe that I cut into the bottom left wire for RPM, which I do not believe was white, but I thought was the engine ignition wire. who knew?
BAH.

Look it up in your thick blue covered book with the picture of your car on the front of it.

Greg are we making any 2 AM runs to the border while we're in the Dells? The Yellow Supra's owner's name is Thai, or Ty, or however you spell the asian equivalent. It has a T88 single turbo on it, and IF he ever raced the thing it'd smoke most of GB on the highway. However he doesn't race it, so don't worry about it. The White MR2's owner is named Lei, or Lee, etc.. anyways it's pretty quick, he actually does race it and does know his fair share on mr2's, however I don't think it's ever been properly tuned. Last time at the track I saw him run a 12.7, so it actually does run... He's a pretty nice guy too.

Except you, 'cause you'll have a T-88H. I've got faith. Not very good with Asian names are you? My brother in law wants me to race Mi-chi (or something ) when I get my injectors and pump in. He runs a Q35 and he's been putting a supercharger on it for the better part of the spring. I've been watching those cars, and seen him drive it, and I don't think I'm to worried. damn re-badged 350 Z's... I want a skyline GTR damn it. they better get on the freaking ball and get some of those over here. And I don't want the pansie version ether. Or I'll head over there and give them a piece of my mind. and then I'll stop by mitsu and show them how the engine was suppose to sit in a car. Where's the bitch slap smilie?

Mee Chai! It's a G35, going to be supercharged etc etc, he has everything ready for it except the actual SC installed, only because he's waiting on his ECU to come back from being programmed or whatever they do nowadays. I think you got him.

The supercharger is on. I saw it on wednesday. He's waiting for the ECU to get back from cali or something. I'm not really all that worried. It's a cute car though. I think my mom should get one.

Found the CORRECT RPM signal wire, and the E-manage is up and running. Got two logs last night. the software has a couple bugs that I've found already, but it seems pretty cool so far. It can sense the greddy pressure sensor voltage, but can't seem to convert that to a pressure signal, unless I have to calibrate it yet or something. I have to look into that. You can't veiw multiple runs side by side. as soon as you try to leave the first one open and open a second one it crashes the E-manage software. Still, it's pretty cool. I can't wait to play with it. I also got the alignment done, put the car back together, and gave her a bath (at 9PM at night ) and then loaded her up for the gathering. So I should be good to go. I'm so happy. See you boys in the Dells.

Ok, So last night I pulled the tire off and adjusted the AC belt tension. Wow that is freakin' easy on these cars. I was kinda expecting something like the jag, where it takes three midgets and a six pound sledgehammer. I also decided that my front brakes were squeaking to much, but I didn't want to replace them, so I just took them off. major weight reduction. The car is so much faster now! Especially when trying to stop. Also put the pressure tester on her and pumped her up. at 11 psi I found a intercooler leak. (not bad, but still there) and then upped the pressure. I get to about 12 ~ 12.5 and my oil cap blows off. I read all the time about people on 3SI testing to 20 ~ 25 psi. wtf? Is my oil cap that shot? I tried clamping down on the brass "wings" that didn't seem to help. I also decided to take the little bastard apart, and see if I could adjust something, but on trying to turn the nut on the screw it started to strip big time, so I tightened it back down, and used an awl to scrap the loose bits of material out of the threads. (the last thing I need is a small peice of oil cap blasting through my engine.) I would really like to pressure test this beast up to 20 PSI, if that's what the DR500's will do. So what's the answer here? new oil cap, or will those do the same thing, and there is a trick to getting this done? Maybe welding a cap on, and then just taking a 4" grinding wheel to my valve cover whenever I want to change my oil? I then took the car out last night and made a few runs to get a few good base lines on the logger. I have a few questions about this... I'm seeing .100 volts for the O2 sensors. On Matt's car when we ran it up and down the strip it was more like .96 volts. On 3si people say they tune for .92 ~ .94 volts. What corresponds to rich and lean? (I think I've asked this before, but got confused again watching the logger cycle.) What should I be shooting for? Yes, I know that I need a WBO2, or an EGT, but I don't have one, and don't have time/money to get one installed for about a month, and Eric is getting testy that I'm not fast yet. And Matt is going around telling everyone that 9B are > than DR500s. So... that being said, I'm going to swap out the injectors tonight, and continue spraying PB Blaster on the pump stuff, cause it's soaking that stuff up like a 18 year old drinks on Prom night. One more dumb question before I take a pause for a breather, should I be running BCP7ES NGK Coppers, or should I go a heat range colder? Is colder the 8's or 6's? I think that we run 8ES's in the Seadoo's cause there hotter, but I don't know for sure... Also, I went out to Mikes last night to look for a table base. (For those of you who weren't drunk in SJ's room at 3 in the morning for the UMG I saw this picture online of a table made of an engine block, and want to make one.) And so I'm wandering amidst the engine block piles (not exageratting, Greg will back me up on that one.) and I come across what looks to be a Mitsu 3 liter. wtf? So after closer inspection I see all sorts of things that scream 6g(72-74)? It even had the right timing belt idler pulley. So I talk to my uncle and he thinks it came out of a 90's caravan or some type of minivan. Does anyone know what type of engines were in those minivans? It'd be sweet to have a similar/same engine block as came out of the stealth for the table. It's in really rough shape, so I get it for free. he told me to haul it home, take it apart, and if I need anything cleaned up to head back out there, and they'll make it at least look shiny, then I can get it powder coated, or coat it in some type of plastic. It should be really sweet. I might have to wait for a week, though. As if I bring any more crap home and put it in the garage my mother will have the big one. But I would like to have it done for the house party... What's a guy to do...

Okay, where to start...
o2 sensors: Our sensors range from .10 to 1.00. The higher the number, the richer the mixture. .10 is really really really lean! You're out of fuel, stop running the car like that!
You know this already, but you can't really trust the stock o2's. They're like the stock oil pressure gauge. Only tells you when you have too much, too little, or maybe something inbetween.
That said, yes .92-.94 is a good target for stock O2's. Any more is too rich, any lean, well, more power, but more knock prone.
Oil Cap: The leak is from the oil rubber ring seal. A replacement is cheep from your local store, however, now that you've farted around with the cap, I don't know if it's any good or not.
Pressure testing: The proper way to do a pressure test is to undo the BOV where it meets the intake splitter. Cap that hole with a D battery. This is how you check the BOV for leaks.
At the same time, you should undo the vacuum line that goes from the rear valve cover to the intake splitter as well (cap that nipple too). If you think about it, there's always vacuume in the intake tubes. Leaving it hooked up while you're presurizing puts pressure into the crank case which is why your cap was leaking. Doing the test this way will also test your PVC valve which probably won't hold more than 12psi.
When pressure gets into the crank case, you get oil vapors in your exhaust. This is why our cars smoke a little when you get on it.
There's more I want to say, but I need to get back to work. Ponder this for a while.
