That's fine. I wasn't able to get out to the paint shop today to work on the car, so I'll do it next Saturday instead. Planning on going to RA on Sunday.

I promised to buy her a pony(ponies are cheap, it's the feed and housing that's expensive, and I can pawn that off on her father) and so now she's ok If I just show up for an hour on Saturday. If you want we can make it a go on Saturday.
I'll give you a call later.
Emanage update. I got the injector harness, but not the ignition harness. I believe that I ordered both, but my alamo package came with 0 paperwork. So I'll check what I ordered from my screen shot on monday. I have also decied to order the pressure sensor to log boost, cause I think that will help getting the A/F ratio perfect acrossed the board, so reguardless I'll be ordering more stuff.

I re-ran the lines to the waste gate actuator equal length, and that solved all of my spiking problems with the Greddy controller. After playing with it for a bit I get a rock solid 10 lbs on low and 11.9 lbs on high.
Quite happy right now. I'll have to see how it holds up as temperature changes.

6 550 denso injectors are on there way back to my house as I type this. Rich Jensen [rich@cruzinperformance.com] was outstanding to deal with. All questions answered on a timely basis, very fast for injector turn-around, and generally a nice guy. one of the seven that I sent had a broken pintle, so it's my newest paperweight. probably go on my stock parts shelf in the garage. Two birthday parties, a brake job on a freinds car, a sick newphew, and a sump pump emergency this weekend left me just enough time to wash and wax my two filthy cars. I'm waiting on more wires for the e-manage to come from Alamo motorsports before I yank my ECU and start splicing wires... Thats scary. For me more-so than the timing belt. I was suppose to pick up Jesse's exhaust, but like I said the sump pump shot most of sunday right in the rear, and I forgot. So the next time I called Ryan I was driving back from taco bell, (starving, first time I ate on sunday) and these punk kids are all throwing gang signs at me and revving their engine while at a stoplight, and it's like ok, whatever. Sorry about being distant on the phone Ryan, but I was busy giving a pontiac grand something-or-other a quick veiw of my tail lights. (and this was the benz, which is so slow it hurts to drive it.) Racing my auto tranny really felt like special olymipics. It might be different if your trying to shift the gears(I have a slap shifter but I was on the phone with Ryan and didn't have a free hand), but just mashing the pedal and sitting there was pretty lame. I have to get that e-manage hooked up and pull some fuel also. I'm running so rich I'm staining the back of my car. I have black soot all over it. I think I might make some stainless steel plates to cover around where the exhaust comes out. It'll look rice, but it should help with the staining. So, when do you want to re-schedule Greg. I'll tell my next relative that has a birthday to piss off...

Call me sometime and let's work out a time. Aaron needs my help with his brakes and there's another guy who needs my help swapping struts & springs. Those I'm going to try and setup those up durring the week. I also need to visit my car again and finish painting the engine bay.
Maybe Saturday night -> Sunday would work best .

Spent all my $$ on this chroming kit and now I don't have $$ for food. j/k b.t.w. The guy who designed the parking breaks on these cars needs to be shot.

On a DSM, it's really nice. Right on the rear caliper, there's the port for the fluid hose, and a hook for the parking brake cable. Both will push the piston into the pad which touches the rotor in order to stop you/hold the car in place.
Now, on a 3/S, they had to get fancy. Some guy from Denso (or whom ever designed this car) got the idea, let's put a drum brake inside the rotor making the parking brake and the rear caliper 2 separate units. I don't know if you've ever worked on drum brakes before, but they suck.
The "drum brake" uses the inside of the rear rotor as the "outer drum". So, you have the p-brake cable which tugs on one of the inner pads, which pushs a spring mechanism which then pushes the other pad into the inside of the rear rotor. There's also an adjuster at the bottom where you can widen the space between the 2 pads thus tightening your brake. To keep the pads in place, there a stick, a spring, and a small disk (which is about 3/4 the size of a dime). You must turn the tiny stick 90 degrees so it will fit thru the small disk to get the whole assembly appart.
That's your parking brake. Of coarse, over time, these pads wear out and like all older 3/Ss from the northern states, theres rust which only makes the job more fun.
What is an hour job (swapping a rear caliper or pads) on a DSM is now a 4 hour job messing around with some over designed mechanism.
There's a little Japaneese man somewhere laughing to himself right now. "Hahaha, Hiroshima/Nagasaki mutha fucka! Waaah!"

Meant no disrespect. Kinda figured you did. Thought it make a good read for someone.
When you buy "rebuild kits' for the brake, what does it all come with? The part we had the most trouble with was the c-clip that holds the front shoe to the lining assembly. On Aaron's car, the pad was completely warn and siezed to the rotor. The heat (or rust) fused the clip to the shoe so it wouldn't rotate and held the pad to the rotor. (thus his brake handle would pop back up when you tried to disengaged the brake). We ended up ruining the little c-clip getting it apart.
Also, the the ABS light comes on after driving for a little while. I have a feeling it's from the heat from the siezed pad in that wheel messing with the sensor. The manual shows a way to test the sensor. I'm hoping it's still good.
