Ok heres the deal... I have worked at all the local detail shops and a few body shops in the past.. all in all I have 7 years experience with making cars trucks and boats look good. but I have been out of the business for a little over 5 years now and I am finding myself a little out of the loop on what the top of the line products are these days.. back in the day it was auto magik and production that all the detail shops were using, and meguires and 3m for the body shops.. now I do know that as far as the interior goes nothing beats a citrus based cleaner to get everything nice and clean and bring back the natural shine, even in the carpet. I have brought carpets back from the dead to like new luster with a good citrus based cleaner from production and a steam machine. but what I am looking for now is what are the best non abrasive polishes and waxes on the market today and where to get them...
by the way for anyone who is wondering, my car will go into the body shop on the 14th of next month to get its new CF hood and have the windshield and roof fixed.. while in the shop it will also be getting a new second gen 3k rear bumper and my 99 lip will finally get painted and installed.. the new hood is from importfan.com and it is not the pit road m replica. I have yet to see this hood on anyone elses car nor have I heard of anyone else having it so it will be unique (completely) and it wil not recieve any paint.. the insurance company sent me a check for $1855.00 and the total cost of the repairs will be $2100.00..
as of right now I don't think I will be able to afford to go to the NG this year due to this little setback so close to the time of the NG, although I will keep my room reserved as long as possible untill I know for sure wether or not I will be able to make it. however I do plan on attending as many of the other events as my schedule permits this year..

Personnally I like Meguires #5 and #7 glaze wax. Although they are a little greasy and you will probably need a 3M rag to get them not to be streaky. But, they leave a great shine. Would love to see pics of the new hood when its all done.

I'd say for waxes stick with what you know. I still use bottles of Meguires I bought 7 years ago. I keep them in the house to protect against freezing.
I run out of carnuba from time to time but who needs to deep clean or clay bar every time. I definately have to replace my rags from time to time.
I avoid the new stuff incase they slip in some silicone.
Isn't the car at least 5 years old anyways?

My father works in the valley as a mechanic and priviate autobody work. He uses a dealer/ professional Meguire's product. It was mentioned #5 and #7 glaze. This is#66 from Meguire's I have no clue as to how to get it It came in a gallon jug. It works slick !I have never seen it before. It deoxidizes and has a fine grit to it for removing scratches. I think it must come from a whole sale dealer?. I use myself use a deoxidizer first ,next a fine cut(1500) rubbing compound for the scratches and then a carnuba wax or I have used Liquid Glass. It is expesive but it works slick. Hope this helps. Tim
