This is what I did.
In first gear I was leaving a parking lot and brought the tac up to about 4000RPM's then let the gas out to let the engine slow itself down.
I heard a noise. A not good one.
Symptoms: When in neutral and let the clutch out it either grinds or it moves forward like its still in gear.
Some gears dont go into gear. If you push the car back about half a tire rotation you can get it back into gear.
We thought it was the Master Clutch Cyl. Because it was dry. So we replaced it today. Then it drove fine to my house (about a 15 min drive) then put it in reverse to back up, and it backed up fine then I put it in neutral and let the clutch out....same grinding noise shit.
Any ideas!!!!! I thought maybe that it could be the clutch like something is broke on it or something but im not really sure. I just hope its not the tranny. Any help would be awesome

After you replaced that cylinder did it go into every gear as normal or was it still hard to get into some gears?

Yeah, what 440 4X4 said.
Kind of sounds like misadjusted linkage, something jambed in the shifter or a bent shift fork.
Pull your shifter boot and look for a pack of cigs in the shifter pivot. I thought my transaxle was blown once and it was just a pack of cigs.

I'm unclear about something. The tranny is grinding while in neutral but not in gear?

G-Ell wrote: I'm unclear about something. The tranny is grinding while in neutral but not in gear? yup.... There is no leaks in it at all. Like ok....when its acting up and i turn it off i cant get it in any gear. But I roll it back a little bit like a half a rotation i'll get all the gears. One time when we were driving in 3rd gear it made a little grinding noise, I put the clutch in and pulled over and sat for a while till it wanted to be driven again We're going to look at more things tomorrow and look at the things you told me to Zoodled I'll get back to you guys tomorrow more on this subject. If you have any more ideas and would want to talk to me directly just call my cell phone 819.4424 just leave a message if i dont answer and ill call you back.. Thanks for all the help guys.

Sounds to me like there's a chunk of metal rattling around in the case. Hard to say.

So far what were thinking up here is that its a linkage problem.....but in actuality there could be more wrong then just that.....

Heres more descriptions for you all..
When the car was off....
I could get it in every gear (1,2,3,4,5,R) No problems... Then i start it up...
In Neutral I slowly take the clutch out, and I can tell by the engine sound that its gonna grind(like it wants to creep forward but not quite in gear to catch all the way) so i put the clutch back in and turn the car off. Then NO gears go in. But if you would go R to 1, then it would let you go in the gears...... and we rolled the car back and forth and for a while every gear worked all the time. I Start it and same thing in neutral it wasnt to creept forward.....
