Wife's car popped a CEL the other day.
I told her to drive it home and I check it out.
When she got home the CEL was off, and the logger could not find any stored codes.
I shrugged it off as a fluke and told her not to worry about it.
She took the car for a spin the other day, and a CEL tripped again.
This time she got it home and the CEL was still lit on the dash board.
Hooked up the logger, and it showed no codes once again. Also could not clear the CEL.
I know on my 95 the logger did not know about the EGRT fault. I did not think the 94's had the EGRT fault code.
Also, I could clear the EGRT fault code on my 95, just not see it.
I'm at a loss here.
any ideas boys?

I never had an issue like that with logger before. Maybe try and reinstall the softoware on the palm and try again?

You're doing it wrong. Grab a test light, sick one end in the diagnostic pin (I'll look it up later for you if you ask nicely) the other to the ground pin and count the number of long and short blinks. Since I'm such a nice guy, I'll even tell you what that code is for after you get it to me.

Speaking of doing it wrong, the test light is only needed on first gens. 94 plus you can just ground the 12th pin (right side front) and watch the CEL blink at you. No test light required. So... It's blinking 43. after a quick check on 3si that leads us to: 43 EGR (California) yes EGR temp. sensor, EGR valve, EGR control solenoid, EGR valve control vacuum which as I stated in my first post, the EGRT CEL doesn't show up on the logger, but I didn't think the 94 had the EGRT. Does it? Also, in my 95 I could clear the CEL with the logger. This one I cannot. why would that be? and now back to you Greg.

Either way gets you the same results mr master of the universe. If you have a Cali car, then yes, there definately is a temp sensor. Go look for it on th car. :p The California ecu must have a different protocal for clearing codes. shiver never adapted his logger for those ecus. They have some extra coding in them for 4 o2 sensors too which he doesn't have incorporated either. You should buy my spare fed hybrid ecu, send me yours, and I can figure it out. I'm getting into the reflashing stuff for the 98/99 ecus.
