Glad your OK. Those helmets are a great thing.
Yor bike seems to have only minor damage. If it's totaled you might want to buy it back and fix the broken parts. Do the rims have to be perfect?

Yes helmets are a good thing.. TO be honest the rims dont have to be perfect.. But I was planning on buying a new bike next yr, and I would rather not have a bike that was crashed.. I mean I would rather have something where I know its safe. I would be more scared to go fast cause of something migt be wrong. Rims have curb rash on them and isnt terrible but I think I would rather have them total it then fix it. Its got over 15000 miles on it now and hasnt really been running right for a while.. Got it fixed last yr but it still wasnt the greatest.. So who knows.. I will find out tomorrow more info cause im gonna call the insurance or go over there.. Honestly I could get it on the road for like $500 probably and deal with scratches and that but for me I like riding around and that and wouldnt want scratches and marks all over... The hole exhaust system is practically bent back touching the swingarm so dont know what will happen there.. Ive thought about buying it back and fixxing it or buying it back and parting it out.. Or even making a go kart with the engine Gonna see what the insurance has to say tomorrow(tuesday) and wait for them to get an answer to me.. Basically my thinking is if I demand everything be perfect. there gonna total it. If I just say get me the major parts needed then they probably wouldnt total it but they might.. Ryan

as a fellow rocket pilot I say total it and get a new one you will be happier in the end. I know from experience..
I used to own a 88 gsxr750 slingshot and a 93 gsxr600 both were awesome bikes but I would never ride a bike that has been crashed unless it only had cosmetic damage from being layed down in the driveway.. my .02

I guess since I ride a sport touring bike I have different values. I bought it from my friend who had dumped it. I only paid $550 so I could replace the clutch lever for $15 and the tank and seat for $300. I was lucky to find a NOS tank and seat for the 83 off Yahoo a message board since Honda discontinued the parts 8 years ago. My signals are held together with electrical tape .

Little update.. They said it can be totalled. Offered me $41**.** or $26**.** if i keep the bike.. So basically $1500 to buy it back.. That also includes the $500 deductable that I have to pay.. So basically they are paying me $4600 -my $500 deductable and I get the $4100. $3100 in parts and labor to put it back to normal. Im thinking about buying it back.. Making a wicked ass go kart, parting out everything else that is still good.. And have a fast as hell go kart Ryan

the bike is in working condition right.....if it is you should teach me how to ride one of those basturds. once you get the go cart up though you need a 300 shot in there to give her a little more gusto

haha,, actually they make nitrous for bikes... SO I was actually going to probably run a 20shot of nitrous... 300 shot on a .6liter bike, would not go over well.. Hell the bike only has 100hp.. haha. Well I gotta let them know monday what I want to do with it.. I went and bought a brake lever so I could drive it.. Just need to disconnect the spedometer and ill be all set.. Hell if you wanna ride it let me know.. just dont crash on the good side!! I still need some parts.. Only bad thing is you wont know how fast your going but ill help you out.. You will have to wear a lot of clothes and helmet and that.. Cause Im not going to be responsible if you crash... Shit I should start charging people.. My buddy wants to learn to ride it as well.. haha.. Ryan

Ryan Hell ya that would be sweet. I wanted to get a cbr900rr motor and build one. That was a little crazy. Ahhh ok maybe not. Wait a second I think I just found a use for one of my old 9b's after I upgrade .
