Happy Fourth of July everyone. Have fun, be safe.
Just got back from the parade the daughter marched in and while those are all well and good, like the fireworks tonight, I find most people miss the point.
We have many members of the great club who have served. While it is a great day for a BBQ, I always find it a great day to reflect on how lucky we are -- even if it's for a just a few moments.
I'm going to use an example I found in a movie called
National Treasure. I love that part where he talks about putting their lives, their families lives, their whole existence at risk -- by simply signing a document.
To me, simply reading
that document on this day, somehow makes it clearer. I'll offer it up, simply to share:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
