99VR4 ON AUTOTRADER FOR $20000. Damn, it's tempting. Denver area. Anybody wanna go on a roadtrip this weekend? 13-14hrs from madison. Contemplating it, but I gotta buy a house someday too. If I could only unload my 99 base for like 10-12k real quick I might just think about it. Anybody else think this is a helluva deal or is it just me? Aaron [/b]

who's going with me????? anybody?
Who wants to buy a 99 base for a way more than fair price? cmon somebody has to want it for a daily driver or something.
I keep trying to convince myself no, but it isn't working oh, well.
If I have an accomplice I may at least go look at it.

If Greg can't go, I might be able to swing it. My biggest concern right now is a hotel, haha, I'm broke. But let me know, I could take a day off work Friday if you wanted to head down there.

JRink wrote: My biggest concern right now is a hotel, Bah, that's why you take 2 people. One person drives, while the other sleeps. Although, if we drive there, and he got the car, we'd be comming home with 2 vehicles... Not a bad looken car. http://tinyurl.com/229ov Donno about spending $20K on a car with that many miles though. At least the 60K has been done. Remember, my car with the new motor wasn't that much, and it also has about 10K fewer miles...

Things to check...
Transfer case leaks Oil leaks Coolant leaks Brake pad wear / rotor warp Tire tread Clean / salvage title / carfax etc. Acceleration under boost Chrome flaking on wheels Oil in Y-Pipe and Rear IC Pipe Notchy shifting / grinding Remove oil cap - make sure no sludge or milky substance Check 60k service if applicable Dings, dents, etc. Power stuff - windows/wipers, etc.
All I can think of right now...

Spark Plugs Axel boots
I wouldn't be surpised if there's a good amount of oil in the rear IC pipe from blow-by. The car is 5-6 years old after all.
There's a number of little things that people don't mention on the 3/S boards that are partial to these cars. Things like:
Oil pressure Cold/Hot idel (missing BISS screw cover) Leaky oil return line
Reminds me, I need to check the CAPS in the ECU in my car.
Curious what kind of rotors he put on too... :ponder:

I really shouldn't, but I haven't ever seen a 99 this cheap. Plus, I could just tell a few people that I modded my base model a little bit. Of course I would eventually have to tell them the whole story, but it could be fun for a bit.
Gotta talk to Tonia, if she says get it, I'm gone friday afternoon. I doubt that will happen though. blah, blah, blah. I'll get back with you guys tomorrow.
Oh, and what hotel are you talking about? screw that, there won't be much time for sleeping, just drivin

Aaron, let me know if you want me to cruise with if you leave Friday (if Greg can't take off work). I can take off work, but I'd need to know tomorrow.
