Well, they salted here like a Mo-Fo last night. Guess it's over until next year -- or miraculously, temps climb and we get some good rain. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I hate this part of the year. Hell, I just hate winter. Time to dig out the tender. Hell, the sun is coming out and the temps are dropping already... Best, SJ

How well does a stock 3s handle in the snow/ with snow tires? AWD is supposed to be great in the snow/rain, but this setup is not intended for that. Anyone crazy enough here to drive it in 2-6 inches of snow.

I had to drive mine for two winters. I had Michelin M+S's on it. I drove circles around the soccer Mom's who thought 4WD meant their SUV's could do anything. It handled great in the snow. In fact, one day it snowed like 12" -- hardest part was getting IN the car -- no issues. The downfall of course what it does to the car. SJ

Yah know, my SL did great in the snow with only 2 new fusions in the front. Never got stuck or had issues going up hills. Even got in/out of Aarons driveway when the poor purple people eater couldn't. The thing drifted really really well.
I drove a Galant VR4 in the snow last season and the AWS really made driving thru turns on the highway pretty scary. I'd imagine a 3/S wouldn't be any better.

I drove my VR4 in the snow a couple years ago for about 3 days when my winter-beater done broke. It was great, tons of fun. It was a weekend we had the really light powdery snow. The only problem was that it was so deep that the snow kept coming up over the hood. It was fun though and I was driving circles around everyone. In fact I'm selling my truck and if I find another not-such-great shape VR4 I'd pick it up for a winter driver in a second or a subaru.

The damn snow came way too quick for me in the U.P of Michigan eh!!! On Friday we got 8+ inches.....!!! By today maybe half has melted. My 94 Grand Prix winter beater needed rear brakes so those went on yesterday and the battery was toast so it now has a new one. Hopefully the temps will stay in the High 30, low 40's so I install some plugs, flush the coolant and change oil. Then it should be good to go for the winter. The damn spoiler broken loose so I took it off and I need to fix it. The clearcoat is also starting to come off the spoiler so I need to sand off the remaining clearcoat and put on a new one. I was hoping to have at least one more weekend to work on it before the VR4 went into storage. Right now I'm driving the VR4 for this week until the beater is ready to go. I swap license plates between these cars so I need to make sure the beater is finished before swap the plates. THis is the worst time of the year..... I have to put the VR4 away for a long winters nap!

I was planning on moving my car to a storage shed for the winter, and they salted a bit here... I thought she was stuck in the garage for sure, but it's raining pretty good today... as long as they don't salt anymore. fingers crossed.
