There are a few co-workers of mine who regularly head out to the local tracks and race. They've been inviting me to come out with them, but I never went because the green car was mostly stock and not very impressive.
Tonight was the last night they were planning on going out for the year, so I decided to join them this time with the new car. One guy has a Ford Lightning with nitrous, another has a Porche Boxter, and another guy has a new Mustang Cobra (supercharged).
Little pre-story: Ever since I started working for Mack, these guys have always been teasing me about my car. All the classical rumors about our cars being "heavy and slow riceburner" would come out. The Cobra guy is an older gemtleman with the stereotypical Mustang-rules-all additude and his car was the fastest out of the 3.
So we head out to English town which is actually a really nice track. Wednesday nights are CHEEP to race and not too many people were there.
I have the car boosting 19psi and was running 93 octane (low feul light was on). Spare tire was also in the trunk.

First run: Me -vs- Lightning
I tach it up to about 6K and launched like I did in the SSG car.
60ft: 1.79 60ft (MAD tire spin)
1/4 mile: 12.193 @ 118.53mph -vs- 14.193 @ 108.75mph
The Lightning owners reaction was priceless.

The next 3 runs, I kept missing 3rd as I'm still getting used to the new short shifter, but I still ran in the area of 12.5's. Traction wasn't horrible if I slipped the clutch more. Once I figured that out, I was able to run low 1.7 60fts and even a couple 1.6s all night. Not bad for it being 40something degrees outside.
The Cobra owner was also running mid 12's all night and now wanted to make a run against me.
4th run: Me -vs- Cobra
60ft: 1.691
1/4 mile: 11.931 @ 117.91mph -vs- 12.585 @ 119.48mph
The Cobra owner was so pissed he couldn't even look at me when we pulled back into the pits. Shortly after that, he left.
Lined back up with the lightning owner again for the final pass:
5th run: Me -vs- Lightning
60ft: 1.683

1/4 mile:
11.852 @ 118.25 -vs- 14.139 @ 107.69
I have no idea what the Boxter owner ran.
Overall, I'm extremely impressed with the car. Drove the car all the way to the track and back with no issues. I also daily drive this car to work and get upper 20s for gas mileage.
I think a set of light weight rims, CFDS, and 150lbs shaved off the car will make a major improvement. I also have a set of tein coilovers which will get installed as soon as I get the adjustable control arms from Terry.
I'll post the time slips durring work tomorrow. Sorry, none of us braught a camera so there are no pics or videos.
