Alright, I'll hold off on the radiator and get the tstat from the dealer. Checked with the dealer on plugs/wires and they list platinum plugs as being the original for the VR4 so I should go with those over copper? I see the plugs/wires at 3sx so I know what I'm looking for but will shop it around and see what Greg comes up with for pricing. IPO? Also, the dealer will put the oil pressure sender in for $85 parts & labor, so I'll probably just do that early next week on both cars unless one of you protests heartily. Dealer price for platinum plugs was $15.50 each and $88 for the wires. They wanted $500 to do the tune-up, damn. Looks like I'll be bringing some extra beer, spotted cow anyone? Moo! ttangel wrote: get a mitsu t-stat. not a napa one. they don't have the right temp setting. I believe they are to cold... you'll have to double check that.
I would also get mitsu/accel/MSD 8.5 wires, never seen a good set of parts store wires. MSD 8.5s would be my first choise. try IPO. they *had* them cheap...
why are you getting a radiator? did you flush it already and it didn't work?

Do you have, or can you get, any of the old coolant so that I don't have to do the conversion? My mechanic mentioned that the conversion isn't 100% and isn't a great way to go if you can still get the old stuff. Also, on my mini-mits, AC never worked so not sure if there is a leak or not so would have to trouble-shoot that one from scratch. Put some in, check for leaks, etc. I can probably fix your cruise control. No promises, but I think I know what's wrong. R12 is much better (as in it makes the air colder) than R134a, but even if I could get it, you won't want the bill for it ($400+). The full seal conversion kits work just fine, and it's a "good idea" to get a new AC compressor, but those are pricey too. I only suggest people replace their AC compressors if they're noisy. The way I check for leaks in the AC system is the same way you check for boost leaks. For your car though, I'll be replacing all the seals (as part of the conversion) so there shouldn't be any leaks. Yes, I work for Ground Zero Performance (GZP). I can't get price quotes, but Hans can. Call us @ (610)-438-0439 or e-mail hans@groundzeroperformance.comIf you don't mind spending $85 at the dealer for a simple fix (you can do it yourself with a 14mm open end wrench), then go for it. I miss Spotted Cow...

why are you getting a radiator? did you flush it already and it didn't work? You can go with platinum plugs if you want. they don't self clean as well as coppers, but only need to be replaced every 60k versus 10 to 15k on the coppers. Those of us with time on our hands, or a rough tune go with the coppers because we know we will be changing them out before the 60k mark anyway. 85 bucks for parts and labor? what are they all changing? Like Greg said, anyone with two opposable thumbs, and a wrench can change this sensor. Also, they are now selling the A/C refill kits in WI now. sweet.

We'll I think I can get some R12 up here for about $40/can and I need 2 for my system is my understanding. I'll see if I can still get my hands on it. Part of the fix on the oil pressure sender was the sensor itself which is $65 and about $20 for labor. So should I stay away from this then and just wait till I get up to WI? Do I not need to buy the sensor? I'll e-mail Hans, but by the looks of it I only plugs/wires.

Get the sensor, I'll screw it in to your car, and for the low low price of a miller lite. that should save you about 18 bucks. your call. You will need a new sensor. don't care where you get it from. S.J. - made a thread on it, but it was at the local car quest. he said it was a new item as of tuesday. You better make it. Or I'll sick the russian bride on you.

Going to try, it's out of my hands. My Dad may not make the trip now, and if he doesn't, it may just work out. Unfortunately, this is a weekend that is just really full of many activities I am trying to avoid. All I can say is we'll see. Dead weight -- call me later tonight okay? Need to follow up on stuff. That, and I of course need everyone's help before I screw something else up A few are serious events where I really should attend. I actually need to be in about twelve locations in two states this particular weekend. One could be new job related. Like I said, we'll see, but I'm hoping it will all work out. Gotta run, SJ

1) Adam + guest. -=nothing. my car's gonna run... =- 2) Matt P. 3) Bert 4) Brandon 5) Matt R. 6) Kyle (Bunk) 7) John H. 8- Greg & Joanna 9) Bret & Mechanic Chad 10)Peter (pstriegel) ok kiddies. This is quickly becoming the 3/S garage-fest. Which isn't bad, but I only have two stalls, and if we have cars jacked up, wheels off, it's a tight two stalls. So, in an effort to better serve the customer lets post who needs to do what (if anything) behind there name, and approximate time they will be showing up, and what time they need to leave by. That way we don't have someone show up, stand around all day for there turn behind people that will be crashing drunk in my back yard, and don't get anything done because they have to leave early. I know... order to the chaos that is w3si... never gonna happen, but we can pretend. Also, why isn't Eric on that list, and who is bringing his as...you can see... tushie up to this gathering? w00t
