The AC needed a recharge in the car. Found out you can buy R134a in a can at any local autoparts store. This really baffeled me and gave me another reason to stay out of WI...
For $40, AutoZone sells this AC recharge kit. It's a silver can that looks much like a small fire extinguisher. There's a gauge on it, a hose, and a handle.
All you have to do is start up the motor, remove the cap off the low pressure line (labled with an L for your convience on the larger black AC line), hook up the line from the can (same way you hook anything with an air hose) and spray until the gauge gets into the red. You then disconnect it, replace the cap and enjoy riding in comfort on a hot/humid day...
Brilliant!
Now, if you have a leak, then you simply call up Mitsu and order the AC o-ring replacement kit which comes with 7 or 8 little o-rings. In about an hour, you can have every ring replaced. The kit costs $15 or something with our discounts.
The poor/lazy mans fix is to wrap plumbers tape around all the rings in the system.
