<AEM ENVY> St Louis MO. I went down there to change my clutch, saw Von's car, got to talking about singles and race engines, and the bug bit me. pic of his car: Mine won't be as pretty, and his is a PT67(with work done), where mine is a PT61, but my should get to the gusto a little quicker in spool (hopefully). I think it's rated for 680 horsepower. If I'm above 550+ at the wheels, I'll pack it up and call it a day. No need to be greedy. If it does spool a bit to slow, I'll bottle feed it. He's got his car on AEM, another car that runs 9bs on AEM, and a few more that he sent out of the shop, and they have the tuner fly back after he's got the basemaps for fine tuning, and maximizing the power. Anywho. one question I haven't asked yet, mainly because it's just style points... should I mill the top of my plenum so it doesn't say "TWIN TURBO" ?

Holy HP batman! ttangel wrote: Anywho. one question I haven't asked yet, mainly because it's just style points... should I mill the top of my plenum so it doesn't say "TWIN TURBO" ? I would do something -- heck, make one like that? Actually, I think you SHOULD resurface it and have it etched with "I EAT NOOBIES." Best, SJ P.S. I'd be real interested to hear what they accomplish with the AEM 9b car.

my car is not a mitsu. they didn't want it when it was a stock illigetimate bastard child. they can't have it now. "I eat Noobs" - Intresting... I kinda like that... with the little dinasour and everything... might have to look into that. the 9b car specifics is not to be discussed on the internet. Maybe in person. let's just say I think it would be more cost effective to get a mild turbo upgrade, inj, pump, and a fuel controller. But kieth defends the AEM to death. Says it drives better than stock (he had an ECU die on him, too. that pissed him off.) I think the real difference between a good AEM experience and a bad one is the tuner that dials in the car. I 110% believe that as a matter of fact. That's why I want to get down there for John Reed.

It is going to take me that long to upgrade the fuel system. I have a report, 2 presentations and a feasibility study coming up for school. So I'm not going to be able to work on it much.

what are you doing for a fuel system? I thought you had all that jazz replaced and ready to go? last time I checked you had a walboro... I could hear it. you have the emanage... put it in by me. injectors are about a 45 minute project. 3 hours if your a do-mass like me and drop a plastic spacer. fuel filter, depending on condition and when it was last changed seems to be about an hour job? what are you all changing up here bud?

I honestly do not remember the injectors being that big of a deal...? I can have my plenum off in well under thirty, now. I remember unbolting the fuel lines, lifting the whole speel up, and removing the injectors. the clips were more of a pain in the rear than time consuming, and after the first two I figured out who to get them off with out demolishing the clips. the rubber gaskets weren't that bad, maybe a minute or two to dig out the holes. put the new ones in with new rubber gaskets on them all ready (go cruisinperformance!) replace the plastic spacers, (or dig one out of the engine Vee with a surgical tool if your a dip-sh*t for over two hours.) and tighten bolts. injectors changed. plenum back on. maybe another 15~20 minutes for that. no EGR, or rats nest to deal with. so, yeah. you got a problem with that? huh? what? I'm talkin to you.

Fuel filter and fpr came to day, i'm waiting for the fuel rail adapters. The regulator is bigger that I thought so I think my "It's stock" line isn't going to work anymore. I'm going to try and hide it but I still need it accessible. I think the braided line will be a give away though. Maybe I can heat shrink them or use wireloom.

ver fer wrote: It is an aeromotive. I don't have the dimensions but compared to the stock one it is huge. It is a firewall mount. http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/pdetail.php?prod=10Holy cow, it sure it. Nice looking unit. Yeah, that OEM one is tiny by comparison. If you want that stock look, couldn't you leave the stock one in it's location looking like it was still hooked up and mount this mother elsewhere? Best, SJ

So I wake up this morning -- kind of anyway -- and go to let the wild attack dog out and he won't go. I look down at him and yell for him to go, but he won't budge. I mean mucho rain, yes, but never a big deal before. I look down on our front patio and there must be 500 earthworms... WTF? So I give Barley the boost with my size twelve and he heads out. I immediately head out to the garage for the damn door has always leaked and toss at least 50 back into yard just from inside the garage door (there were hundreds on the driveway) and a half-dozen in in the boy's garter snake cage. I then proceed to the back door where the rain gauge says 3" and the pool cover has white caps. The patio out back maybe only had a 100 or so earth worms. Now of course it has stopped raining and they'll all die leaving sticky, crusty sh*t everywhere... Just think if this had been snow... Oh yeah, it's a@#$%^&*! Monday. Oh well. RA this weekend lads! Cheers, SJ
