I just got home from a formal Masonic dinner and a fellow brethren from the Dousman lodge was telling me about his friend's woes in the town of Summit. Apparently he owns a Taurus SHO, bought it form the brother-in-law, with an existing custom flowmaster exhaust system. Summit police officer pulled him over, fined him and he is expected to put it back to stock because of some WI law from 2002 stating you can't modify your stock exhaust? Anyone else heard of this one? SJ

This would include ; Tint , and lifting and lowering kits and wider tires and or larger rims. Any alterations in head lights or taillights. I've seen dashboard lights get nailed to (Indiglo) Spoilers/ WINGS. I've heard of one guy about 4 years ago getting nailed for after market body parts. Side cladding and a scoop. This just goes to show some law makers had way to much time on their hands ! Tim

Quote: Spoilers/ WINGS. why? I don't think this is illegal, as long as they are mounted well/correctly. maybe that is what the ticket was for. Quote: I've heard of one guy about 4 years ago getting nailed for after market body parts. Side cladding and a scoop. Yes, this can happen once again, if it's done cheaply/worried about integrity of car. I've seen cars running down the highway with front bumpers and sideskirts almost coming off in the wind at 70 mph. I would pull them over and ticket them also. That's not safe. I'll have to check on the interior lights... I've also heard two different stories on underbody lights... one says that as long as they are not red or blue you can have them on. The other is that it is always illegal to have them on while in motion, or at a stop in the road. you need to be on private property.

Yes, it is illegal to modify your exhaust in anyway. Even it it's old, rusty, and hanging off the car, you must replace it with another factory system. There are so many dumb laws in this state... That's why I love my HKS dual tip catback. ...uh I mean, my car is completely stock, I swear!

hah..yeah a cop threatened to give me one of those tickets awhile ago, I asked him why he didn't pull the 2 straight piped mustangs that were next to me since we both knew they were a hell of a lot louder. He gave me the $50 no front license plate ticket instead, what a D-bag .

The other is that it is always illegal to have them on while in motion, or at a stop in the road. you need to be on private property. I was doing laundry this past fall, and I just got done putting my clothes in the dryer when I went Outside adn started playing with my Underbody lights with the remote, I was parked in a Parralell parking spot and I saw a car approaching and I wondered it if it was a cop. So my lights continue changing Colors (Going From Red To Green I belive) and this car drives by which appears to be a Cop. He Didn't even slow down or anything he just drove right by and I was the Only Car there also and he could see me from quite a distance. So I was lucky that night i guess.. During the Highschool Football Season I couldn't find a parking spot so I parked across from all of these cops next to the entrance. So I turn on my lights and peopel walk by and are looking and Complimenting them and some Bitched about them. So I lock my door and walk to the game, leaving my lights on, and I come back and then i opened my door put in some music and then A WHOLE mess of people crowded around and I was putting on a little show with music and making my lights strobe back and forth and change colors and alot of Oooh's And Aaah's lol. and there must of been atleast 60 people just Jaws Dropped and Eyes Gazing at how good my car looked with the Rims and Hood and lights and just being the ONLY Stealth In town. So I was happy, No Cops Said anything, even though they were everywhere.Teachers the Next day asked me if i was the one Putting on the "Smoking Lights Show" lol, So moral is that I have been lucky so far... With my Carbon Fiber hood, Huge wing on the back, Rims & Tires, and Exhaust.

You can't get a ticket for underbody as long as the car is parked. It is only illegal to have them on while driving. Supposedly it causes a distraction to the other drivers. Any cop that would have given you a ticket for that your lawyer, if he/she is smart would get it thrown out.
