So I've tried twice now and I'm striking out. Looks like the VR-Slow won't be coming to the cruise after all. I do want to thank both Joe and SJ for letting me try their wheels.

I think I know why they don't fit your car, but they do fit on Stealths.
My brakes don't say Mitsubishi on them.

Greg: on SJ's wheels the actually have different sized "levels" and the get smaller as you go away from the car. I can see where they would fit smaller calipers and where the larger (2nd gen) ones hit.
Joe's wheels were simply the wrong offset, The spokes on his wheels hit the "mitsubishi" on the calipers.
SJ: I've got my fingers and toes crossed.

For some reason when you mentioned SJ's rims over the phone, I thought he was giving you his 18's. To make the 1G 17's fit requires some grinding to the calipers.

Well, crap man. If I knew you were stock piling wheels that would rub/not fit I could have sent you mine, too.
you would have had to drag them through the garden first.

Yeah, my car is a freaking garden ornament, so I know ALL about dragging shit through the garden.
