I think an appropriate time would be now for a link to http://www.bryanlouis.net/forum/It's Bryan's site, Adam's on it, so are some of our Green Bay friends. Little to null moderation, post whatever you want, and have a blast. Also I would think that many of the photos shown here were indeed car-related, afterall I would think an install of a downpipe onto my automobile is indeed "car-related". I'm unsure as to why every single pic was removed when, yes I agree, there were only a handful that were a little "out there".

Actually our admin's took it upon themselves to not even link the pictures in their edit, so I have no idea where they are linked right now.

Ok, here's the deal. Time. It's all about time. There are plenty of things SJ and I have to do to keep this car club a smooth sailing vessel besides moderate this website. I deleted all of the images because we just don't have time to pick and choose which ones are ok and which aren't. And frankly, it isn't worth my job to spend the time to do such things either. If people want door prizes for the rural cruise, let us have time to organize such things instead of moderating the board and then taking the time to explain why we are moderating the board.

I didn't link to the directory the pictures were in because I was unsure if Vetting wanted traffic on his website. If vetting wants to post a link to them, that's fine. I will not post a link to them without having permission from him first.

Give me a break Aaron. A simple PM to Mike asking to edit the "unappropriate" pics would have been a lot easier and consumed less of your time.

Moderators are what these things are for. Appoint some, there are some great candidates on here for it. Off the top of my head, there's your IT staff on here. Matt, Bryan, myself... Bryan and myself set up the forum, I moderate/admin on 3 other php-bbs, and so does Bryan, and Matt is your go-to guy on here as well... don't be afraid to ask for help in the subject manner. Get the moderator a list of rules to follow and enforce, and that's one less thing you two have to worry about.

Hey guys,
I'm gonna stick my big nose in here and I might piss a few people off, but this thread is getting way out of hand.
I'm not sure if all of those pics on the website were directly linked into this thread, but a few of them were not appropriate. If you want to put them on a website and just link to them, thats cool. Just make sure to put the not safe for work warning on it.
It does look to me like Aaran got a little delete happy in this thread. Everytime you delete a post, you run the risk of pissing someone off. I always try to be careful what I delete and what I simple warn about.
What disturbs me more than that though, is the fact that some of you are undermining W3SI, by blatantly posting another messageboard and telling people that aren't happy with W3SI, to just go there. What the hell are you thinking??
Jesse Rink poured a lot of sweat and blood into this club and to build it up and now you guys are bickering like pre-school kids. W3SI is one of the most organized and best 3/S communities out there, why would you want to destroy that?
Its obvious that some of you are upset with Aaron, but please, lets deal with it in a better way. And Aaron, I think you should listen to the masses, and try to come to some better solutions.
I don't want the UMG next year to only be 40 cars because W3SI is split down the middle. No one is gonna benefit from that.
I'd also like to see a couple moderators appointed to maybe oversee things. Especially if Aaron and SJ are too busy to read everything. Someone like Greg E would be a great choice. He posts a lot and probably reads everything on this board.
later, Curt

W3SI is one of the most organized and best 3/S communities out there, why would you want to destroy that? Yes, I agree w3si is a very tight knit group and thats awesome. Its just the way the board is ran. Its like we're children. I cant swear I cant hot link pictures theres 3 categories to talk about. You get a message yelling at you about spamming. Come on its the internet, you dont have to worry about bandwidth its the era of broadband. Don't cater to the people with dial up, thats there own fault. There is a disclaimer on these boards saying you should be 13 or older. Well any 13 year older knows the f word and if there on the internet im sure they've seen more vulgar pics. The message board is mine, its a public board to talk about anything and everything. I just added a 3/S group for the few people that want it. People will still resort to this board for stuff. The things I would do if I was the admin. First I would set up groups and make sure that everybody has there own username no sharing if you dont want people getting into sections they shouldnt. Then just have rules like okay if your going to post pics that could be bad, put NWS on them. Done, fixed. Also if you have hot linked many pics, the normal Not for 56k users. Jesse did put alot of blood sweat and tears into the formation of w3si, however brett and I put alot of blood sweat and tears into the website/forum but get nothing to show for it. I dont want hand outs or anything for it but we're the kids who built the place to come online. I respect SJ and Aaron for organizing the events and gatherings I couldnt do that, I'm just a nerd that does computer things. -Bryan

Curt, you don't know half the story here. but thanks for your opinion on a half-***ed attempt to understand it. Bryan's site is a place where we can swear, talk about chicks in yellow bikinis like objects, be uncouth, and tell fart jokes. nothing you would enjoy. It's not a replacement w3si. it's not a "GB3S" Don't start more drama. Brett and Bryan offered a place to be stupid at. some of us here need that. They're not creating a second site. the 3/S's of GB are also a very tight nit group. we just are. much like chicago, st. louis, or others. now your whining 'cause the forum we post on is linked to w3si... have you even been there??? It's more to talk about beer, or what the local kid with the WRX is running in kaukauna this weekend. I've had far more than enough drama come my way from this whole gathering. It's starting to really piss me off. thanks for more. Appreciate it. p.s. this is the nice version.

From what I gather... This thread was for comments about an 'unofficial' gathering. Up until things were deleted, the thread was on topic about the weekend. At the point of deletion, things got out of hand. At that point, I would have closed the thread and emailed the offending parties individually about what they did wrong. That would have most likely avoided this getting out of hand. A way to avoid this in the future would be to add a few more specific sections for car & un-car related events and unofficial gatherings. Such as a 'front porch' for WS; 'back porch' for NWS. That way everyone can post everything else related to our lives and the club if we so choose. This is just a suggestion, but I have seen it on other car forums and sites. It seems to help keep things more organized and on topic. Remember, there are more to our lives than just these cars. Not much more for some of us, but there is more to talk about between friends here in the club. Curt, you know I have no problems with you; Well other than the 'ringers' for the VBall game. But I agree with Adam; there are just some things that cannot be known from a few posts in this thread.
