Have you taken them a rack once before?
There was a place locally that did a great job with remaning half-shafts and steering racks, but they went out of business not too long ago. There's a local guy who needs his redone, and I don't want to send him to some random place and get a shotty piece back...

Sorry no- I have just read about a few people that have used the. The way I understand it is you buy one from autozone and take your old one back..

that online place you told me about for the half shafts wanted $150 to rebuild one plus shipping to them and autozone only wanted $100 for a remanufactured one....

I don't know if that was direcet towords me but Yes I have gotten a rear axle from raxles.com. When I was in need of one we didn't have a autozone or advanced auto around and none of the places I went to had rear axles for our car. after searching for a while I found raxles and gave them a call. the guy was really nice and said I would have to send mine in as he didn't have any in stock. I got it back in a week and the workman ship was awsome. The boot is heavier than any I have seen from the discount stores. I would send them to him again. sam unclebenny wrote: that online place you told me about for the half shafts wanted $150 to rebuild one plus shipping to them and autozone only wanted $100 for a remanufactured one....

Yeh, you get what you pay for going to Raxels. They did some work for me once before too. Wonder if they'll do a steering rack...

I was picking on greg with that comment. I'm broke and autozone saved me $50. We have an advanced auto parts in oconomowoc now!
