So, when I joined this club, many moons ago, it was a great place to be and was full of great people. Some new people have come, and some old people have gone and I have some great memories of "wrench parties" and gatherings, not just gatherings in WI but in a few other states as well.
Some of you have towed my car home.
Some of you have towed my car around town.
Some of you have rebuilt an engine for me.
Some of you have taken the 11pm phone calls from me asking: "ok, where does this plug go?"
Many of you were around for my turbo conversion gathering, I still have a few beer cans hanging in the garage to remind me of that event.
Caravans together for NG in MI, and TN.
Crazy evenings together with 1am Taco Bell runs.
"Bench Racing" sessions over beers and chicken wings.
We were a close group of crazy people that all had one thing in common, we loved these damn cars that just never seemed to run how we wanted them to, or be as fast as we thought they should be, or that always seemed to break down at the worst possible moments.
It was a place where I knew that people had my back, and I had theirs.
I am not sure what has happened to that club that I joined back then, but it sure doesn't seem like this is the club that it used to be. Yeah, it is a long post, but damn, where did that club go?

+1 Perhaps we all lost our minds after being cooped up all winter or maybe the world is just a different place these days. Either way, here's my 2 hp. I've spent a lot of time here and at car club events. Why? Why would I waste my time here? I don't need my fking car. What I need is enjoyment and a place to relax to get away from all the bullsh1t that is a part of everyday life. Let's keep that bullshit out of the club from now on alright? Let us not make enemies and ruin the friendships we have here. My hope is that maybe we can all learn from our mistakes and not let this be a misfortune to the club. How can we do that you ask? First off, let's man up and apologize for our wrongdoings, poor attitudes, mistreatments, and resentments. Secondly, let's treat each other as we want to be treated. Everyone here is an asset to this great club and the club has been a great asset to all of us. Let's remember all of the great friendships we have and work hard to keep this club running as smooth as our cars do. Sure, there might be a little hiccup here and there, but that never stopped us before right? Let's keep it that way!

I don't know if a certain event spurred this, but I got your back man. You, Amy, and SJ were the first people to really make me feel welcome to this group, so thank you.

I wouldnt say it was one certain event, more like a series of small events, followed by some bigger events. The times they are changing I guess.

My vehicles never look top notch. So I don't enjoy parading it around all of you guys with cars that look great and mine is just a fast turd, lol. Plus I'm usually broke because my car makes me that way, lol.

Because I'm a new member, I don't really know much about the forum drama that goes on here sometimes. But John, if it weren't for you and some other members (Brandon, Justin, and Preston), I don't know if I would still be a very active member.
When I went to the UMG last year, it was my first meet, and I didn't know anyone (except for Brandon). You guys were all really cool, and introduced me to everyone else. I remember when I was telling you about how I couldn't get my damn door to stop buzzing when it was open, you just sat down in my car, pulled out the cd player, and unplugged the blue wire. It seems small now, but at the time, I was like ("HOLY SHIT, HOW DID HE KNOW THAT!?!").
For the record, I am always up for 1am Taco Bell runs, and whenever I plan on getting around to doing my turbo conversion, I would love some help if you're interested (Pizza and beer on me).
The long and short of it is, I joined this club not really knowing what to expect. I went to the UMG fully expecting to be the outcast because I was the "new guy". I'm really glad that wasn't the case.
I got your back man.
Scott

I'm so very proud that the traditions live on!
Long live the G-ELL door buzzer mod and Taco Bell runs!

I've been meaning to meet a lot of you guys for a long time, never got around to it. But I sure do like the sound of the type of club that Jhammer's describing.

I hibernate every f*cking winter John.
You know that.
I don't even f*cking start picking back up until late spring.
As far as why I'm not passed out in Eric's girlfriend's jeep after puking all over your driveway anymore...
Well, Eric would have to get a girlfriend before any of that can EVER happen again.
So, it's back on you now buddah. And making Eric presentable is a formidable challenge.

As a newer member, I do hope all of the traditions live on. Even though I knew SJ before hand you guys definitely also made me feel very welcome. I enjoy every hooters meet and can't wait until UMG and our farewell to the twins. Even though I am lacking my sticker I actively represent and have even recruited two members to this site. All in short even though it has only been a few months meeting you guys, you guys are like another side of my family
