So I'm chilling on my porch here in Appleton, talkin' with my friend a few hours ago (was about 10pm or so) when it happened. "When what happened?" you ask.

Well, tearing around the corner, a 1G DSM (looked like an eclipse) purple-ish, I think it was two-tone, but too dark to really make out for sure, another car, whose identity I didn't fully distinguish, because my attention was fully on the third car. A red 3000GT with active aero wing (either was an SL or a VR-4) with two kids in it.

I noted these cars because they all turned off onto my road, which.. even though hooks off of one of the busiest streets in Appleton (Richmond), is not exactly a main throughway... it's a little side street. Secondly, they tore around corner at a good 30mph, following each other, kissing each other's bumper.

So my bud and I are thinkin' -- musta been street racing (I know the second car was an import, but didn't pay enough attention to it to remember which).

BAM! Right after watching the cars pile into my little side street, we hear sirens. 10-15 seconds later, a sheriff's cruiser blazes up Richmond in search of these guys.

So, if that 3KGT is here on these boards (obviously he's not going to incriminate himself by responding) -- wow, that was a close one. You almost got your arse caught, hahahaha

Don't try that at home, kids.



EDIT: That reminds me-- good thing my VR-4 is down in the Chi area getting its transmission rebuilt by maddog, or else I woulda probably been cruising around --- not good, seeing as how my car looks EXACTLY like that 3KGT, red and active aero wing and all. Whew!

If it had Active Aero, it wasn't an SL. But if it was only going 30 mph, how could you tell if it had AA or not?

Then it was a VR-4

Anyway, the first car was going about 25-30 mph. The second car took the turn much slower, kind of clogging up the road for the 3KGT.

And there's a huge different between the look of an AA and a base model flat wing. I have one, so I tend to know what they look like, from every angle, from great distances, in any amount of light. I saw the square badge next to "3000GT" on the back so I knew it had to be an SL or a VR-4.

The fact that SL's didn't come with AA was an oversight.
