ok i have a 98 eclipse GSX and my girlfriend just bought a 98 eclipse GS-T now im curious if anyone has an idea on why in the hell we keep going through alternators...in the GSX we replaced it 4 times this year and the battery once...today we picked up the GS-T and couldnt even make it home without it dying on us we had to keep jumping it for 10min to get it back to the palce to have them fix it cause dam if i was gonna pay for that after only putting 20 miles on it and the thing is just last week they put a new alternator in it and had it at mitsu to have the charging system looked at and replaced a 100amp fuse or something and said everything was good to go this was all done friday...so 3 days later its dead again....just curious if anyone has heard of anything like this or has experience in it...i had to swap these out so much i can do it in like 20 min now...
also everything is stock in both cars..no after market radios or anything..

A friend of mine went though the same thing with his girlfriends '98 eclipse spyder. I believe hes' on the 3rd alternator right now. I'll ask him if they ever got the problems resolved...

Remanned/knock-off alternators FTL... They never last long. Clean your grounds (yes, pull out the ground bolts, sand them clean & sand all connectors).
Do you have any power steering fluid leaks at the pump by chance?
Do you happen to still have all the stock heat shields over the turbo and no exhaust leaks? Excessive engine bay heat will also prematurely kill an alternator.
