Just an FYI as I mentioned to a few of you already, I will be unable to attend this event... I have a few matters to attend to on Saturday, on top of my car not yet being in perfect health. SJ will be organizing the gathering in my absence...
Hope you guys have fun.

Far as I can tell this is what I coordinated with Joe...
7:30am is just too early for, I'm not getting up at 5:30am on a saturday. Bryan and I should be hitting town around 11am.
Brandon: I couldn't hear you quite clear yesterday due to I was driving somewhere, do you need a ride in from me or what's the scoop? You'd have to ride in the backseat but it is doable..
Joe: we just gonna meet there right?

Alcohol ... Are they really going to allow lots of beer drinking and such at this event? Are they selling it on site? Are people bringing coolers? Does Car & Driver know that in Milwaukee even a 9:00 AM driving event is cause for some serious tailgating? Something just seems wrong about lots of people driving cars fast and lots of other people in the near vicinity drinking beers fast. SJ?

Anyone planning on bringing a grill and going all out? Not sure if that's feasible or not. It will be odd to be in the Miller Park parking lot and NOT grilling out, though.

If your worried about being caught drinking beer, take your windsheild washer reservoir out and clean it real well, then re install. then pull the hose that runs to your windsheild sprayer nozzle and pull it off. run that hose through your firewall, there is a little black grommit that will work nicely right there. I'd route it into the glove box, personally. Now dump jack(for Joe), or other favorite type of alcohol in the windshield reservoir. now when your cruising, or sitting around tailgating all you have to do is hit the windshelid washer button and have your can of coke ready, and your squirting alcohol right into your cup/can. I wish I could make this event. It sounds really cool. unfortunatly my friend is getting married to some dizzy b***h, and I need to be there. Boo.

The rear washer would work better though the line doesn't have to run through the fire wall then and the booze won't get hot. I might have to hook that up for the NG.

By the way, I heard on the radio yesterday something about a big Used Car Event or something that was happening at the State Fair parking lot. There are many State Fair parking lots, and I'd be surprised if this affected the park-and-ride lot, but a heads up just in case. I imagine if there's something going on at the lot and we can't use it, we'll end up somewhere nearby. It's pretty residential around there, so nothing springs to mind for a backup plan other than just a sidestreet like 75th. As seen on the zoomed-in map.

SJ just called and here is the update (he is out on the road). Our club will most likely be the largest car club attending this event. Apparently, they didn't do a very good job of promotion. There are only about 40 signups total and they planned to have close to 400! That being said, I think we can expect our club to get the largest portion of the media coverage.
We can now arrive at Miller Park by 8:30am and secure our paddock, so try to be at the park and ride by 8:00 am. We will be leaving the park and ride at 8:15am. That should give us enough time -- right Matt?
I am unsure whether alcohol will be allowed and because of the media coverage would vote against it. However, I will be bringing my portable grill and some hot dogs, hamburgers, and sodas for everybody. If you have something else in mind let me know.
The organizer also told SJ that best in class will receive $100, paying the fee to signup.
The schedule of events is as follows:
8:30-11 am staging, inspection, race prep
11am Autocross followed by the Slalom and then the Skid Pad
My cell phone number is (608)558-4694. Call me if you get lost or have any problems.
Thanks,
A

Yep. Leaving at 8:15 will give us enough time. No worries. Any idea which stadium entrance we're supposed to use or which of the stadium's parking lots this is taking place? There's an "east" lot (other side of 41), a "far north" lot (other side of 94), and a "near north" lot (adjacent to stadium). All three would be large enough for the event.
