You all know its comming and I for one dont plan on missing it this year. All the details are here: http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread...86&page=1&pp=20In a summary, it's a 5-day event held in St.Joseph, MI. The dates are July 20th thru 24th (Wednesday to Sunday). Registration will be up soon and from what I hear hotels are as cheap as they get (some 60-70 a night). So I thought it would be fun to get a group of people who want to caravan on over. I havent thought about what days to go, but thats something we could all plan out, along with a meeting place to start from. Anyone with me?

I assume I'll be rolling down (providing I have a car) to meet Joe and the Milwaukee crew again, as well as the Chicago guys... but it's too early for me to start thinking about that.
I swear last year this time I already had a room booked.

I'm in. Sounds like a blast. Trying to talk Greg into it. Oh, and Jesse, If you need to trailer your car I have a friend with an enclosed trailer.

Where does everyone meet in Milwaukee? That could be a really good place for everyone in southern wisconsin to take off from. We all meet there, eat and go. Just an idea, but sounds fun to me.

Well you know I'm in. I keep in touch with the Chi-town boys so I'll keep everyone posted on what they plan to do as well.

Christine - We'll def get something going for the UMG.
Also, just to inform everyone, the hotel for the NG is filling up extremely fast. The first block of 100 rooms is nearly filled and we only have about 40 more after that. So I would register at the minimum($60) and get a room ASAP. You can always add events, guests, etc. later.

So I just Signed up for the National Gathering (capitalization ), and they ask if you want to autocross. wtf is autocross? when someone says autocross to me I think flying through a muddy/snowy one horsecart wide lane in northern england with one of those goofy STI's with all the lights mounted on the front. This isn't that lame crap were they set up a bunch of cones in a parking lot and ask you to drive around like your lost until you get a repeated time is it? If it is we should have a drifting event for the FWD's too... So Jesse. Are you trailering one car this year, or two?

Yeah, autocrossing is the cone racing.
Joe, I can't seem to hit you on AIM. Who are you rooming with? Did you get a poolside room? I have my own room right now, 2 beds.

Quote: So Jesse. Are you trailering one car this year, or two? Dunno really. I'm having a difficult time finding a way to tow one car, let alone two cars. My brother has a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with class 3 hitch, but, no tranny cooler, so unless he gets a tranny cooler, no way I'd use his truck. But, I may buy him a tranny cooler in exchange for use of his truck. If that works, then it's a matter of buying/finding a trailer. With the size of his truck, it can't be an enclosed trailer - too much weight. SO I'm looking at trailer options too. So as it stands right now, I have no idea what I'm doing, but I need to figure it out soon. I'd love to take both steaths to the NG but I think that's near impossible. Instead, I'm leaning towards taking the maroon one and actually running it at Gingerman for the road course. However, it'll suck cause with street tires and street brakes, on such a short track (1.9 miles), I will hardly be able to use any of the power the car makes. Gingerman is like mini-Road America. At least it'll still be fun. I hope. J

I've decided that I'm going with or without my car this year.
Where are you guys finding hotel info? The NG site hasn't been updated yet.

One of my fairly good friends has the meanest nastiest dodge desiel they make and an enclosed trailer. I believe that he puts five snowmobiles in the trailer.
we'd have to have a serious need for the truck before he'd give that up, but I'm 90% sure I could talk him out of the trailer for a week.
So gingerman is that mean and nasty? So should I get an extra set of front brake pads for this trip?
Also curious about hotel options!!!!!!1111!!!!!one one one!

No, Gingerman isn't mean and nasty at all. The perfect track for the beginner. What I'm saying is, because the track is so small, a high HP car doesn't serve you as well as it does on RA because there's just not as much length on the straights to utilize that power properly. At RA, the extra HP is nice for the front/back straights. When I was there in June, I never even broke 100mph ONCE on my track car (no performance mods - stock). At Gingerman, tires and brakes are your best friend. At RA, you'll get more bang for the buck with the extra HP. Email me and we can take our discussion about your brakes and such offline, I don't want to hijack this thread. As for the trailer, even if you could get an enclosed trailer, I've no idea how I'd tow it. Too big for my brothers truck (*IF* I can even get use of that). I'll figure something out.

Joe, I can't seem to hit you on AIM. Who are you rooming with? Did you get a poolside room? I have my own room right now, 2 beds. I dont have anyone as of now, but I also requested a double poolside room. We'll see if I get it as I got screwed out of mine at NG02. Either way its no big deal cause I'm never in my room anyways. Oh and another thing. I talked to both Ryan(Flo) and Rob last night. Both plan on attending this year. Rob says "car or not". But he'll probably bitch out like always... LOL.
