I believe Mopar Jim did this on his 92 rt/tt a few years back. Unfortunately, he's not around much anymore so I doubt you'll get any information from him about it...

IMO its not worth it. The gearing is set up so in most cases your car would be the fastest in the 1/4 mile with a 5 speed due to the gearing. There is a certain point where it is better to have a 6 speed though.

I think that the only thing that you get out of it is better gas mileage on the highway. I don't normally use 4th or 5th gear. It'll shatter all the speed limits in Wisconsin in third gear. It's got to be a little better with the taller gears in the 5 speeds, too. Are you going to the Salt Flats to break the 3S land speed record? That you might want a six speed for. ROAD TRIP!

I like the shorter 1-2-3 gearing. Better acceleration.
No one here is making enough power to warrant a 5 speed conversion.

I put a 6spd in my 91. I didn't like the gearing for normal driving, seemed like i was always bogged down or over reved when attempting to stay close to the speed limits on non freeways.
About the only thing i did like about it was i got the tranny almost brand new for free.
