I am going to be buying some new rubber this winter and thought I'd ask a few of you more experienced folk for some input. I have only had two sets of tires on the VR-Slow so far; pirelli pzero rosso asymetricos and pirelli p7000 supersports. The latter had much more tread and I didn't notice a difference in traction. I was considering nitto 555's now that I have another car in addition to the bike for transport. Anyone used these before? What about the g-force T/A's?
P.S. Buddy Club P1 Qf's (14.77 lbs each) on order!

I hate the Bridgestone fusions on my car. The sidewalls are rounder making the car floating at really high speeds (80+mph). The wet traction is great, however, just like the Potenzas.
The Potenza's (my personal favorite tire) have great tread life and the best wet road handling out of any tire. IMHO They are the best tire you can have for your average driven car. They suck in the snow though...
My red TT had Nittos on it. Even though I only put like 150 miles on them, the thing I liked about them was the highway road noise was much quiter than the Potenzas. They are pricey $$.
Yokohamas are okay, but after the outer layer wears out, they're not nearly as good.
Those are the only tires I have personal experience with.
b.t.w. Eric, check your PM's...

i had a set of nitto 555's on my n/a 3000gt. i was going from toyo proxes f4z or whatever they're called. there was a huge improvement. they grip VERY well on wet and dry pavement, very little road noise, and they look really aggressive. they aren't cheap, but they are totally worth it. i got mine at Forrest Home Tire which is in Greenfield, and the people there were really cool too.

alright....after seeing how little life I would get (given my driving style/lack there of) I am not going with nittos/gforce's.
I am willing to sacrifice some traction for 5 times the life as I enjoy driving my car.
Its now between the Bridgestone Potenza S03's and the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's.
Any input on these two guys?

The F1's are expensive but since I work at goodyear I can hook you up for a few bucks over cost if you want them.

Really??? You may have just made my decision for me. I have to wait until I get my buddy clubs from japan in a couple months, then I'll be needing tires; just doing the research now. Are you allowed to let me know what my cost might be on a set of 4 275/35/18's in the F1 GS-D3's?

Sweet. Everything I've read so far tells me they are VERY similar in performance...so I may very well go with those then. Thanks a bunch.

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1's on my TT. They are excellent tires in the dry and wet. IMO, they are probably the best (normal production) tires you can buy.

Well I looked it up today - cost a little more than I thought since we have to get them out of Chicago. I'll PM you with the price.
