I've been doing some research and I've met mixed opinions on O2 housing/precat eliminators.
A lot of people say that there is NO DIFFERENCE between those and just gutting the precats. I just find it difficult to believe that there is no benefit, even over a gutted precat. Perhaps they are slightly larger in diameter, or have a less restrictive shape?
I appreciate all input, I'm not set on buying them, just supporting some research of mine.
Thanks,
-Peter

after you have held them both in your hand, looked at them, and the quality between the two you'll be able to laugh at the people that say there is no difference, also. THe question becomes how much are you willing to pay for better...?
Don't trust everything you read on 3si. Plug the lower nipple. Precat elims are better than gutted kitties.

Cool, that's what I figured, thanks for the quick response. What do you mean by plug the lower nipple? I haven't looked at a precat yet up close, just going off of the pictures of them. There's a guy selling them for about $350 shipped, lightly used. Is that a decent deal? Or is it more of a "is it worth it to me" thing?
I guess I'm trying to figure out if it'd be worth it to get them as an early general bpu mod.
Thanks again

Plugging the lower nipple is a BOV arguement I always seem to get into on 3si. just comedic relief.
350 shipped for both?!?!? wow.
Are they DNperformance, or a knock off? you have to be careful there, because the DNP ones didn't even fit well. no telling what a knock off is like.
But, yes, a nicely bent, well flowing tube will be a small tube, big empty chamber, small tube any day of the week and twice on sunday.
I had elims on my car before a boost controller... heh. But I'm an odd duck...

If you're asking, "is the bang for the buck worth it" the answer IMHO would be no because there are other modfications that are cheeper (and less of a PITA to install) that will give you more power. I guess they're worth it if your stock one is cracked and needs to be replaced/repaired.

Cool thanks, I think for now I'll just gut them. I'm looking into a maft kit right now for a gm ls6 3 5/8" maf. hopefully that'll be a good idea.
Thanks guys.
