Adam: The vac reduction ver fer and SJ did at my house (I mainly was in charge of haggling, maybe touched two things during install, and still managed to cut myself) was very simple. The charcoal canister, vac canister, hardlines between front & rear wastegates, and egr valve(not functioning) are all still in his car. This was a quick down and dirty vac reduc.
In related news: I am pulling the vac canister and associated lines on the vr-slow this weekend. Funk that mess.
On a completely unrelated note: I finally (through mass manipulation of blitz sbc-id settings) managed to get my car to boost above 14.2 psi, hitting 16.2 psi (no knock) on pump gas and blowing off the first intercooler hose ever since owning the slow. Luckily I was 300 yards from my house and sent sam back to get a 10mm socket. (reason for maintaing gf)

Luckily I was 300 yards from my house and sent sam back to get a 10mm socket. (reason for maintaing gf) Eric All I know is SJ called me up complaining that his car now boosted to 1.96 bar on 9bs. My reply was bar is something like 14.7 (thought actually closer to 14.5 for some reason. can't remember right now.) so 14.7 * 1.96 = 28.812 lbs. out of 9bs. So I asked him where his pressure sensor was hooked for the controller. He said the nipple on the back of the y-pipe. this can't be done that way because the pressure backs up when the butterfly valve slaps shut. It creates a pressure wave, and gives goofy max boost readings. not to mention that it will not read vacuum in that spot. It must be hooked up after the throttle body. (or 1 of the ports that reads from the plenum side of the throttle body. He then said his car boosted to 1.5 bar. no improvement over elkhart lake. I asked him EXACTLY where all the lines went for his boost controller. He then got into equal length discussions and reducers and blah blah blah, and I asked him, "no, what nipples, and where." (side note: shut up. no nipple jokes. ) He traced the "pressure line" going to the soleniod under his air filter... and to... nowhere. I told him we found the problem, and he needed to hook that line to the back of the y-pipe. where did you guys have that line hooked to? I don't think that you guys would leave it un-plugged, (ie: it blew off) but I bet where ever you did hook it to is now leaking like a sieve, and I'm not sure if the pressure tested impaired can find it. SJ You still need to get rid of all that crap? do you want to? Bring some vacuum line to the UMG. I'll bring nylon ties, and tools. we can do it there if you want. EDIT: you will also need EGR block off plates if you want to can that stuff. 'round 35 bucks. Eric again hairspray. or gel. My girlfriend would have probably made fun of me for my caar breaking down. side note: I changed the front brakes (pads and rotors) on my girl's saturn. 6 bolts. TOTAL. 15 minutes a piece. that's sweet. bad. no xes was paid for services rendered.

Hey sharing my stupidity doesn't help Linus. Yeah, sure, whatever -- got it all. The EGR is already blocked off. SJ

Okay, I clearly don't know what I'm doing here, but I wanted to split this "topic" off of John's TT Conversion post -- and I screwed up. Sorry John. SJ

Adam: We have the alcohol injection unit pulling vacuum from that nipple (behind the throttle body coming off the back of the plenum). I could always t-into it for the pressure sensor if need be. Did we ever confirm the A, E or P on top of the throttle body fro vacuum? Uncle Benny: You bringing you car over to John's to remove that stuff? We do need a good supervisor... ... and then you could do mine! SJ

SJ, I'll most likely bring the slow; good chance for me to continue my tuning efforts.

Well, I'm not sure which EBC you're using, but if the gauge is a separate line than the sollinoid, then hook the line (T it or whatever) for the gauge to either the P port on the throttle body OR T it to the line on the back side of the plenium just after the TB (doesn't matter which).
The sollinoid should get attached to the nipple on the y-pipe.
b.t.w. I can setup the lines so you can keep the EGR valve & the charcole canister. I have my car setup this way.

Spending $300 is as easy as a few clicks these days. Everything is expensive, who's idea was that anyway? I'd like to beat that guy up. $300 on a couple of things I wanted for the bike. Can you say 2 weeks pay? I can.
