I have a friend that owns a garage and has had this 1979 928 in his shop for some time now. All he needs to get it running is the air intake. I no nothing about Porsches so I need some help. I'm not even sure that this is what the part is really called. He says it looks like an air cleaner. All I do know is that there are 2 hose that run off of this. I can find the hoses everywhere but I have had no luck at all locating the air intake itself. Can soemone please tell me where I can get my hands on one of these.

If it is just a filter, try K&N online, or something...
but that's if it's just a filter. I have no clue what the guts of a porsche looks like either.
Or, if your around green bay call page auto. they do alot of work on porches.
if your not, there has to be a shop around somewhere that can help you.

One of the first places I would try is the Porsche dealer here in Madison. They will be able to pull up a diagram of the engine bay (or you can probably do this by doing a search online) and tell you exactly what the part is. Ive been there a few times just looking around and they are nice guys and should be willing to help you out. They will obviously charge you way to much (if they even make the part anymore) but at least then you will know what the part is and you can look from there.
