I thought the seal on my transfercase from the transmission was leaking. It is acctually the seal on the transmission between the transfercase and trany. Can I replace this seal with the tranny in the car?

My mind is drawing a blank.
Isn't there only a seal for the input sleeve for the t-case. Not for the output shaft on the tranny?

there is one on the output shaft to the transfercase. Its between the tranny and transfercase kind of deep in the tranny. Im trying to pull the side cover in order to pull out the shaft, so I can remove the seal. Any other ideas?

Can't pull the output shaft/vcu out in a 6-speed with the tranny still in the car. It's been tried/failed before.
Where did you get your 6-speed from?

I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant pull the VCU but I did pull the out put shaft. Now all I have to do is order the seal. Just wanted to let everyone know that it is possible. Maybee I can do it because its in a 91.

I tapped the pins out in the casing around the shaft. The shaft slide right out with no problems. I cant remove the casing because of gears that get in the way.
