So how many of you guys put your car in storage for the winter? I was away on business for 3 weeks so now that I'm back home I don't have too much longer to drive the car before the snow flies. Still looks like I have one more trip for at least a week so that will be even one less week of driving it. Once its parked out comes the 92 Grand Prix for the winter and get to stare at the VR4 under a car cover all winter. Kyle P.S. Hopefully I can meet up the crew in Green Bay next spring.

I got the SL so I can enjoy driving a 3/S 360 days a year. I usually drive the TT till it snows. 1st day there's salt put on the streets, the insurance comes off the car till May.

I put the car in storage on Sunday. A little premature but I need the garage space to work on another car. I'll probably take it out this week or next as I am having withdrawls, lol. I also have a bunch of parts I'd like to install on it over winter if I have the time/room/knowledge/help.
The nice thing is the garage I store it in is only about 5 mins from my house.

Insurance is coming off mine Oct 27th, and hopefully I don't get hit driving it from my parent's place to our duplex the weekend after.
She's really being a bitch now, so I think it's time to start replacing little things. I think she knows that winter is coming, starts pretty rough in the morning, reverse lights are out... window regulators onw ay out... just stupid little stuff.
I've stored my previous stealth 3 winters

I'm not sure if I'm taking my insurance off or not. It would only save me $23 per month to go from full coverage to storage insurance. I might want to go drive it, especially if we have a late winter.

My insurance company charges $72/mo for liability (secondary car) and something like an extra $25/mo for collision. The comprehensive stays on the car year round which is about $13/mo. This is with no tickets, automatic payments, and a good student discount. Brett, next time I'm in GB, there's an old DSMers trick that works on our cars as well for dying regulators. It involves pulling out the glass and cleaning it, and pulling out the rubber guides in the tracks and cleaning them, then spraying the tracks down with PB before reinstalling. It's easy & free.

Considering the rates you have, I am not sure if I am getting ripped off. For just comprehensive I pay $10.25 per month. For full coverage I pay $34 per month.

Don't worry I paid my dues. When I was 16 and drove a FUBARD 1980 Volvo with wood as a floor, I was paying $188 per month for just liability.

I would die for cheap insurance rates like you guys in Wisconsin have. Here in Michigan the insurance rates are crazy. I have no tickets, 39 years old and I had my insurance agent write up the insurance like my wife is driving the 93 3K VR4 because it would get me lower rates. Right now I pay roughly $1500 a year for a 2000 Expedition a 93 #K VR4, no accidents or tickets. I will park the VR4 in my garage attached to the house and will take the insurance off of it so save $$$. If it was only $20-40 a month to keep minimum insurance I would do it in a heartbeat.

I just got my car (91 VR-4) and for full coverage and decent premiums i am at 191 dollars a month. I JUST turned 19 and am still under my parents insurance plan. I have a pretty clean driving record. Insurance sucks. Oh, and i paid for my car myself for the record
