Hey all: I was driving by Waukesha Motors (formerly Kuettener) last night and noticed hardly any cars. I called Dick this morning and by lunch time when I figured out he hadn't called me back tried again, and got his voice mail. So I called Dennis -- The news is bad. Dick has been "laid off, Dennis is the only parts guy there and they are now down to 3 techs. Part of dealership is gone and it looks like Mitsubishi may be next, maybe going to another dealership (can't say here). Also, our core group may ALL go to another dealership (again, can't say here). It looks like the dealership will be exclusively Mercedes. Please keep this under your hat for now. When I have more or can say more, I'll let you know. Meantime, please don't call Dennis as he can't talk on the phone -- he is THE parts department. SADLY, we are loosing our original partner, that has provided many giveaways and discounts to our club. Best, SJ

Awe man... Dennis is a pretty cool guy. I've talked to him a couple times when ordering parts.
Are we going to turn to a different dealership for a discount now if they close?

I just got off the phone with Richard (Dick), and he and Brad (one of the few and proud VR-4 techs that know our cars -- Brad was the mechanic there that worked on my car) are now at Griffin Mitsubishi. This is where they will probably live out their Mitsu lives. Only being there a couple weeks, he seems good in spirits and hopes we will continue to bring our cars to him if need be. Parts-wise is still up in the air. Our two prizes at what was Kuettner, Dennis and Eric, are still on the fence and gone. Eric needed to make a move and ended up at Wilde GMC. Dennis remains Waukesha Motors entire parts department. So we will wait and see what happenes with Dennis. I can tell you this, if you need parts and are the fence in this area, I'd call Dennis ASAP and get the deal done -- no telling what may happen over there relative to our brand. Until then, we have been working on other opportunities and will pull the trigger on them if need be. Anyway, that's the painful truth. The number at Griffin is 262.251.8898. Best, SJ

Catch this -- I was talking with Dennis and he tells me that it may not leave after all -- and may have it's own facility now, behind the old Steinhafel's, where the Benz dealership was originally supposed to go. Stay tuned -- if they ramp back up, I expect everyone to come back, except perhaps Dick. Best, SJ

Okay folks, here's a quick update: I have some bad news, good news and terrific news -- first the bad... The owner of the Waukesha Motors Mitsu franchise has sold off all remaining cars and parts to Recaro (sp?) in Kenosha or something. Waukesha Motors, having anything to do with Mitsu's, is now gone -- but maybe not forever... Dennis tells me they have been granted an 18 months window from Mitsu and the owner again indicates he will indeed build a new dealership. Why he would let all his current loyal customers find new places to form new relationships until he builds a new place is beyond me -- because odds are they won't come back -- but hey, maybe that's why I'm where I am, and he's an owner... The good news... The good Doctor Dennis knows the parts manager at Renner and will put in a good word for us over there. I will then follow up with her and will post the discounts being offered. Granted, I'm sure they'll be nothing like Dennis has given us over the years, but I'm sure they will be adequate -- and local. To say that we'll miss Dennis' help, expertise, professional attitude, poor jokes and incredible discounts will be an understatement. He has always been then for us from the very beginning -- a friend and a partner, through and through -- and even here at the end supplied a ton of the recent Rural Cruise giveaways. But Dennis -- bad news, I ain't buyin' no MB, so YOU have to be sure he does indeed rebuild that there new Mitsu dealership. No pressure... remember; we know where you live... And finally, the terrific news... I could hardly contain myself when Dennis told me today that it looks like he is going to be a father! I warned him as best I could, but he just wouldn't listen. But seriously, I'm sure Dennis will make a super father and we wish him and his better half all the best as they begin a journey of unimaginable riches -- and toils -- and change their lives forever! Good luck Daddy! Best, SJ

Renner has given discounts to W3SI members for years. Marilyn is parts manager, Amy also works in that department.
They will appreciate the business, and have proven to be able to get parts very quickly and correctly.

Is there a known tech that can do any AEM tuning for our cars? I'm in need of an AEM tuner for some small stuff, not a professional tune or anything, just one for fixing some numbers.
Thanks, Kurt

Kurt:
This thread is 4 years old and not relevant to what you need.
Start a new one under Car Related and be more specific if you can.
I know a couple of our members have AEM's and may be able to help you.

Yeah, ouch, way off topic thread revival here.
Anyhow, to answer your questions, where you are, you can either head down to AMS in Chicago or up to Beyond Redline up in Green Bay. Both have decent reputations for tuning the EMS.

I wouldn't really bother with redline, with the rep they have. I've seen how they work with our 3S. Also, seen 3S buddies take there cars there for work and get it back in worse condition. It's always a coincident for them.
