Boy this coming back to reality part really sucks...
What an amazing weekend.
Let's here it for our newly hooked W3SR road racer, Johnny H.
Great seeing everyone including Aaron (3k_kid_91 id) and his bud Brian; Jack T and his normal crew of Paul Martens, Scott, Matt, Aaron and his girlfriend (sorry Aaron, I foergot her name already; Jeff Bauer, Jesse Rink, the IA gane of Jon and Jess, Jess's Dad and brother and Mike: Nick and his Uncle Erik, ver fer, Johnny H and Amy -- and there was one real nice red stealth that came up on Sunday from IL, but it parked away from us and did not stop by to say hello...

I'm sure I'm missing someone so apologies ahead of time.
I was able to give Aaron his first ride at RA and what a ride it turned out to be. I just "graduated" to intermediate class in April and during my final run we were not passed, passed two Corvette C5's, a WRX and some other paper weight. And surprise, me pads were gone...
A big thanks to Jack T. for his help with the suspension vs. hood issue, fuel cut and teaching the ropes.
The bad news of he weekend was Bill's (drove all the way from PA) pretty horrible wreak coming out of Thunder Valley under the Billy Micthell Bridge and into the concrete barrier, before turn 14. Bill is having the car hauled back. We have hundreds of photos from the weekend, I'll try to post a couple of the car soon if Jess doesn't beat me to it.
Jon was instructing him so both guys were pretty rattled. The good news is these cars are tanks. They both are okay.
Keep in mind, Bill was not the only one.
We had a S2000 roll in Canada Corner. I think we had 4 or 5 cars in the kitty-litter there as well.
Ditto turn 5.
A Viper straightened out turn 14 and hit the tire tire barriers hard as well.
I know I'm missing at LEAST a couple more, but I'm just rolling in, so it will come to me later.
Turn 5, Canada Corner and from the Billy Mitcheel Bridge to 14 got particularly greasy as the day went on Saturday. Methinks someone was leaking. Sunday was better, with only 5, Canada and 14 being suspect.
We froze our butts off up there all weekend, and the suddenly, right when I had no more front pads left (oh Phil!) and one session left, and was packing to leave, the damn sun came out and it must have been 60.
Real sorry for your loss Bill, hope it all can be worked out. Real glad you and Jon were okay.
More later...
Best,
SJ
