Went out with Greg tonight in the car so he could watch my gauges and stuff while we did some more tuning. Got up to 1.25bar (18.1 psi) and the car just pulls like a mother all the way to redline without any boost dropoff. We wanted to try 20psi but it was getting dark and didn't want to take a chance with deer so we called it a night. I think we'll try 20psi on I-90/94 at the UMG and see what happens. Car still has a funny idle (too high, too lean), but, I've just decided to live with it. It's nothing Greg, Matt, or myself can track down so, hell with it, time to accept it and move on. Of course, it's easier to cope when you're giddy as hell and blood pumping from 8-10 strong 3rd gear pulls, lol. *giddy as a school girl* Jesse

Sweet. Dork. How's the 103 treating you? Want more octane yet?

Cats man. The 103 octane is working well. No complaints at all. I'll be getting more of this shit for sure to run for my standard tunes. I agree with Greg, I can probably get more boost out of the 103 yet. Just haven't had time to try it safely, hehe. We'll get there, maybe up at the UMG we'll crank er up and see what happens.
I tell you though. The car is fucking fun as shit. I've never experienced anything like it before. 1st gear is ho-hum, same as before basically, but 2nd and 3rd gear disappear so quickly it's just amazing. I also took it past 7000rpms a few times (most I got was 7400rpm before shifting) just to make sure my 8300 rev limit is working on the ECU. Seems like it is since it didn't shut down after 7300.
There seemed to be quite a difference between 16 psi and 18psi. I've heard these DR650s don't come alive until after 20psi, so damn, if that's the case, I might pee my pants when I get there, hehe.

If you're too skered of the speed, we're trading cars.

Life begins at 7,000 rpm. You had best get that thing dialed in or when Brett switches over to his T-88H single he's gonna smoke you.

Even my DR500s didn't come alive until 16-17psi. Then they really shine. The 650s will be psychotic at 20+psi....get some C16 at the UMG and mix it with some 103, then run 22psi and the car will feel lightyears faster still, I'd bet on it!
It's awesome to see you having success with this car, you deserve it.
Matt

Damn you Jesse! You are swaying me back to the 650's again. I have been fence sitting on turbos for as long as I can remember. I talked with greg last weekend and was set back on the 500's. Now I read crap like that and start rethinking my decision. I guess I'm going to need to ride in that thing to make up my mind.

Adam, I hope Brett does do a single turbo conversion. The more fast Wisconsin 3S cars the better.
Greg, Pansy boy? LOL. Well, it's all about getting comfy... I'm definitely NOT used to this kind of power. I need to slide into it slowlllly. hehe. I'll try 8300 soon.
Matt, C16 will be cool. I'm planning on running it at the track. However, I also want to run straight VP103 at the track first, just to see where the car is at before the C16 for comparison. Using the drain plug underneath the tank, I think it can be swapped out fairly easily in the pits.
Eric, I'll give you a ride and you can judge for yourself. Addmitedly, these turbos are less fun at lower rpm (<4500 rpm) than my previous setup that trapped 110. Once they wake up though, then it's a kick in the nuts. Oh, and yeah, I've never seen someone debate dr500s vs dr650s for as long as you have without making up your mind, LOL.. Too funny. Maybe you need DR575's.

Eric, the dr650 are awesome, but the trade off is, you're going to be spending a fortune with Maniac. There's no way to get that kind of performance with pump gas. I believe Jesse was saying at 10psi was the point when he'd get mad knock (now this was old gas too). Look for Jesse's car on the trailer for every event cuz it's too expensive to fill the tank with 103 every 250-300 miles. We talked about this, remember? I can honestly say I'm happy with my setup.
