I was just wondering what would you guys recommend for a daily driver an IPO underdrive pulley, leave it stock or go with 3sx's Lightweight pulley? Does the UDP really slow everything down that much or isn't it that much of a factor?

I've run UDP's on all my cars. Never noticed any ill effects of any sort. Just a little more umpf when you get on it.
Stock pulley's are expensive and have a tendancy to rip in two over 120K.

I also have an UDP on my car with no problems. I've had it on there for about 80,000 miles.
As far as performance.. there really isnt much difference between the UDP and 3SX lightweight. I tihnk its like .1hp to the wheels. So between those two, you might as well get the one you get the best deal on. I got the UDP because at the time it was the only lightweight option and I love it.

Get the 3sx one - its not that much heavier than the UDP and its the size of the stock one so your accessories still get the same current.

I've been told by some that with the UDP when coming to a stop the headlights will dim, any truth to that? I am currently selling my amp and sub so I won't have a problem with that.

I noticed a slight dim of the lights when I have the brakes on along with the headlights. But the headlights alone did not cause a problem. And even with the slight dim, everything works just fine.

You should be ok unless you have a high power stereo (+500W).

My car doesn't do this unless I have the rear defroster on. My 91 also did this before putting on the UDP. Even after installing it, it wasn't any worse. I had a stereo system in that car as well. Truthfully, I don't know of anyone who has ever had a problem with installing a UDP.
