Why does it matter if it's oval or not?

The only thing that matters is the adaptor and the length of the filter needs to be 9" or less. Doesn't matter what shape it is...

That's not the actual FIPK that everyone seems to love, which also costs well over 100 bucks. I have this filter SJ and it works fine

K&N makes a ton of univeral cone filters. If you can CNC a bracket for it, I'm sure there are a bunch of filters that will fit our cars.
Personally, I like the K&N FIPK that they sell for the 95-99 turbo DSM. It fits our cars fine and cost $110, instead of $150 for the "offical" 3/S FIPK.
later, Curt

I had the oval one on my NA and it rubbed on the hood and fender well, because the adapter was a little long. I bought the oval one and it fits great.
