Hey guys, I'm looking for some body parts, and it would be waay easier if I didn't have to get them shipped to me, so I'm trying to see if I can find them locally (or at least semi-locally). Would be willing to drive.
97/98 front bumper. Must be in good condition. Color does not matter.
2nd gen rear bumper. Must be in good condition, preferably pearl white.
I haven't decided yet, but I also may be in the market for a 97/98/99 hoop spoiler. Let me know if you have one.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott, just buy a VR4. By the time you spend money buying the parts, getting them painted, etc. you could have sold the car and bought a decent TT.

Man, no one will want to buy my car in the condition it is in right now for a decent price. It drives fine, but shit, there's a lot to be done cosmetically. I can always buy a vr4 down the road when I have enough money to invest in a really nice low mileage one. However, right now, that just really isn't a feasible option.

I've seen your car, and have been in a similar situation.
I think you are best off leaving it as-is and driving it for a year or two until your situation betters. Obviously fix mechanical issues but it is unlikely to ever break even on visual mods/fixes.

The thing is, I have more than enough money to buy a vr4 or TT. I work two jobs, and live at home, some my bills are pretty small. I would like around 3,000 for my car, but I honestly doubt I can get that.
The rear bumper is fucked, the sunroof has to be cranked manually (with an allen wrench), the headliner is fucked, the rest of the paint has it's issues. The list of stuff goes on and on.
Having two 3s's seems to be kind of a bad idea. At this point, I would kind of like to keep this car forever. Put some money into the body so it's at least presentable, do the turbo conversion (I already have all the parts), and fix up some other odds and ends. Make the car a nice reliable semi DD. Even if I could sell her, I'm still not really sure if I'd like to see it go.

Then what do I do with the Sl? Even if I keep it as a DD (probably a bad idea), I'd still want to fix the car up more.

Two 3s's? I want to actually save money. That's the reason I'm still living at home. My parents will not be helping at all with school, so it's up to me. I already have one money pit, I don't need two.

Both of my NAs were reliable as fuck. I'm kind of upset that I didn't keep the SOHC

The car is reliable. Really the only problem with how it drives is that it has a slight stutter. But I would still be spending money on it because it's an eyesore.

Just keep it for a DD, and don't mod it. I regret spending almost 3k on my 3k for perfomance, and only ran a 14.7. lol. Pick up a vr4/tt and then you can do whatever you want. My 3k was reliable as hell, I barely ever had an issue with it besides the clutch and fluid changes.
I think you could get at least 4-5k for yours. I sold my 3k for 6.5k two months back, half stripped, and the body wasn't in the greatest shape, scratches everywhere etc...

You spent almost 3 grand on performance just to keep your car NA? Why not just go turbo? Also, this car will probably never go to the track, the plan is just to make it a fun street car.
I tried selling my car once, it didn't work out so hot. There were maybe two serious potential buyers, everyone else was either a no show or just some dumb kids who wanted a joy ride. I seriously doubt that I could ever even get over 3,000 for my car. I've almost spent that in maintenance alone.
