Just 4 days to the inaugural CAR and DRIVER Race Series events at Miller Park! They're telling us to please be at the site by 8:30-8:45am for technical inspection. First car off at 11:30am. On Wednesday they will announce their per race contingency program and National Championship prizes. I've also been talking with the organizer and there is a real good chance we can get our own paddock if we all enter together. More to come on that. So let's plan to hook up in the morning and take the grounds by force. Best, SJ

OFFICIAL WHERE-TO-MEET-BEFOREHAND POST A couple of us are talking about meeting beforehand. I think right now there are two unanswered questions out there: (1) what time should spectators show up? 8:30? or was that for the participants only? ... (2) will spectators be able to park with the participants so that we can all be together? will that require us showing up at the same time? Aaron and I have talked about meeting up at the State Fair / Petit Center park-and-ride lot. It's right off of I-94, about 1.5 miles west of the park. Here's a big map: That whole stretch of orange that borders I-94 is actually one big parking lot, the park-and-ride section is the far east (far right) end. To get to the park and ride, take the 84th street exit (there is no 76th street exit). If you're coming from the west, at the bottom of the ramp, go straight onto the frontage road until you get to 76th street. If you're coming from the east, at the bottom of the off ramp, take a left and then take another left to get onto that same frontage road. At 76th, take a right and look for the road that let's you into the parking lot. Once on that road, the entrance to the park-and-ride is on your right. I probably made it sound harder than it was ... it's easy. Also, if you miss the frontage road, you can turn into the Petit center and take the road through there ... you'll just run parallel to the frontage road. Map of all this: So who's all interested in meeting Aaron and I? We'll try to get the info on what time everything's happening.

Matt:
Good idea. I am waiting for Steve to return my call again... he is actually here now, so we're playing cell wars. We need to come in together to get a paddock. As far as I understand it, this would mean racers and drinkers... errrr, spectators. Then the racers go through tech and the different classes of events. As soon as I get more info, I will let you know. But, based on what he said, I think we'd better meet up at like 7:30a so we can leave at 7:45a and enter around 8a.
More to come.
Regards,
SJ

Matt & Aaron:
Yes, it does, but I'm sure it will be a blast too, with all those other types of cars there as well. BUT, I'm hoping as many folks as possible can make it. To reiterate, this innagural event will be shown on Spike TV and I'd love for us to have the largest club turnout period. I'll keep hounding Steve and hope that by later tonight we'll have it all put together.
Thanks,
SJ
