Wait, what is that? Is that... I think it is. A '99 VR-4! Mmm, so nice to not see a "1" in front of all of those numbers. Good morning, sexy. Not the most fun place in the world with a triple plate clutch under your left foot: Passing through good old Chicago: Welcome the newest car to our W3SI fleet. A mint '99 Greddy 16G/AEM EMS 1999 VR-4.

Thank you all very much for the compliments.
The car is from PA (I think you can see the state peeking out of one of the license plate pics; just didn't think I should be posting the former owner's plate #).
I'll have some engine bay pics for you guys next week, right now she's getting a tune up. But basically it's a stock top/bottom end with Greddy 16G's and headers, FMIC, AEM EMS (99 => 94 conversion harness), OS Giken triple plate clutch (word to the wise: do not ever buy this clutch if you have to deal with rush hour traffic regularly), bunch of gauges, hotwired/upgraded pump, denso 660's, etc.
Anyhow, I wanted to drive over to unclebenny's shindig this weekend to meet some of you guys, but she'll be stuck at a shop until next week. Getting new spark plugs, fixing an exhaust manifold/rear header leak, brake light switch and turning up the boost to 19-20 psi. I wanted to bring her to Jeff's for the work, but I fouled out the spark plugs before I could get it down there and towing costs would be absolute butt-rape.
I'll be sure to show her off at a W3SI function ASAP. By the way, if any of you see me stuttering/chattering through your home town, be sure to holler or give me a wave!

LOL!!!
You passed me up going through Fondy yesterday. I was in the red Nissan that you kept flying by. I was going on 3SI to see if I was any one from the board.
The car looks nice.
How bad is the exhaust leak? If you want, you could swing by my place early tomorrow and we could change out the plugs and then head down to UB's.

Haha, awesome. By the time I hit Fondy I was opening the car up just to keep myself awake with some adrenaline rushes. I had been driving for about 12 hours by that point, LOL. Red Nissan, I think I remember, did we drive side-by-side for a little bit? I was so exhausted that I thought it was (or at least remember it as) a red Celica. And how bad is the exhaust leak? Sounds like a V8 with lumpy cams running an open downpipe. I actually bought ear plugs. Unfortunately, the car is already at the shop and she's locked up for the weekend. Actually, it's sitting between two Ferraris... a tuned F40: and another purpose-built road course Ferrari with a uni-shell body. They also have a Pantera and a few race Mustangs there too. I tried calling Jeff a couple of times on the way home to try and get the exhaust leak fixed before I got back to town, but he wasn't answering his phone. I'm guessing he's probably on vacation for the weekend already. Well no matter, I'll see you guys sometime this summer for sure, maybe we can do a photo shoot.

You don't need the car to come to Eric's. I'm sure most people are not bringing their mitsus and stealths. We'll still talk to you. SS

Yeah come down anyway. I was planning on leaving Oshkosh around 12 if you want to follow me down.
Did Motion Products get an AWD dyno now? I know Extreme Performance only had a 2wd.

I'll have to see if I can find transportation, I'll let you guys know.
No, Motion only has a 2WD dyno; the car already has an AEM EMS tune from IPS, but I'm having them double-check the tune on the street to make sure it's not knocking or anything at 19 psi or so. At some point I'm going to have Jeff install a meth kit and have Josh retune the EMS for higher boost.

Jeff's job changed slightly, preventing him from answering his phone pretty much all week - and yesterday was the 4th....
Sorry we couldn't hook up on your way past here.
Now that the "trial" week is over, should have more time again.

I totally understand, Jeff, no problem. As you probably read in my PM, I knew it was a longshot trying to hook up on the way home.
I've got a lot of nitpicky little things that I want to bring to you and don't trust with general mechanics up here. Talk to you soon.
Edit: Looks like I won't have transportation down to UB's, so, hope you guys have fun without me, you bastards.
