Cheep dual exhaust? Doesn't exist. Aside from finding a used one in the classifieds.
I was considering buying 2 apexi N1's mufflers for my 91 TT a year ago and having the local shop bend me up some pipes. Beyond Redline in Green Bay did a custom exhaust for my 91 Talon a few years ago for really cheep. It wasn't anything fancy, not even mandrel bent, but it was a cheep 3" exhaust that suited my purposes.

Ask Matt (ver fer) about his custom exhaust. The sound is VERY nice. Check with him on what mufflers he got... I know he got them off ebay.

Thanks, I'm not sure with ones they are but i'll try to find them. I got then for something like $120 shipped then welded up the rear section (stock front section) myself with some elbows. I don't think there is benefit to a true dual system on our cars though. I'm thinking of building single shot over the winter to save weight.

sorry to hyjack but:
Matt don't go single or you will be super loud like mine. frankly it gets anoying and embarassing to drive with it so loud. I will be going dual next year.
BTW:: don't ever go to beyond redline for anything, they are stuck up and stuck on themselves and their own shit to care about their service to their customers, unless you drive a dsm that they built.. lots of complaints from all of the locals around here aswell as some serious horror stories including my own bad experiences from there..

Keep it coming guys! I think I might invest in the "real" replacement Down pipe. But I think from there I will buy pieces and do my own thing. It can't cost nearly as much as buying a total Borla system and down pipe. Can a guy just buy the actual Borla mufflers and do your own pipes? Matt, what did you get off the net actually?? how did you come across it? I am starting to aggree with the thought of duel not being of any big advantage. (HP wise) But sure can say that she looks a little better than average with duel. I don't want to frustrate myself either and do my own thing and have it go to pot and waste a bunch of money on some crap ass system. So maybe there is no cheap answer. Tim

You can buy just Borla mufflers alone. My former roommate baught his 3" muffler straight from Borla themselves. Check their website. Some people say the HKS catback on my car is crap ass too... It's pricey (mostly because of the material) and doesn't perform as well as the other few alternatives, but it suites my purposes in having a performance exhaust without the noise. My car can definately live without that extra 5-10 HP or whatever.

G-Ell Point well taken. Now if only someone would invent this awsome bolt-on that would look like this bitch'n exhaust and sound sweet but cost very little bling-bling! And still you would get good gas mileage NO BIG CHANGES! RIGHT! No Busted knuckle garage here! I guess maybe I will have to switch my sights now to go from that huge HP increase to just some sweet looks! Because the harsh reality of owning an ES Stealth is that your 1/4 mile is like never under 2-3 min. LOL My quest now is to do this exhaust, be cheap about it and yet have a good look about her and sound. I will win this one! Tim

Sounds to me like you don't really care about performance or quality, you just want something that sounds good.
Try your local muffler shop. Buy the muffler + high flow cat (it's illegal in most states for a shop to not install one), take them to the shop, and ask them if they can make you a set of 2.25" pipes and install them.
The exhaust on my first Talon was just cheep aluminum pipes welded together (welds = not the best for performance) that got rusty after 2 salty winters. I didn't care. The exhaust tip was chrome and cleaned up nicely, the car sounded mean, and the larger exhaust drastically improved performance over stock.

I have a HKS Cat- back on my 92 TT and I like it alot. I bought the whole set-up off e-bay for $300, a guy I know a guy and got it put it on cheap. I've heard other people knock the HKS exhaust like G-ELL wrote, but I like mine. I feel it gives good performance and it is not super loud. I think it is a very good quality product. I definately would recommend going duel and going with a cat-back system. It might cost more but, I think you'll be happy with the results. I'll admit, I love the sound of the Borla exhaust (unclebenny has one on his VR-4), but I'm very satisfied with my HKS

They are some cheap fireball style mufflers. I just did a search on ebay for fireball mufflers.
