Well, you can't really scrub it off with soap and water, but you can usually pick it off with your finger nail and then wash the area. I was looking for something to softenen it and remove it.
I don't know what they used but when I brought it in to get detailed they removed 95% of it. I am having my friend ask what they did (details are a perk for where he works - prison).

I would recommend a good waxing after using something like this since it probably strips the wax as well.

A friend of mine (who was the previous owner) said one of the only ways was to buff it... I think I will try a citrus based cleaner. I have 'Black Magik' bug and tar remover, which I tried before, but it didn't work. Maybe I will have to scrub harder or something. I didn't want to use goof off or anything down that line because I fear it may take off the paint...

It may help to just put a healthy coat of the citrus cleaner on there and let it sit for a while and soak in good.

I had tried a citrus based cleaner, not sure of the name now. I probably didn't let it sit long enough, or it was running due to the angle of the body. It said on the bottle it would remove it, so it was probably due to my impatience.

Well I was learned what was used to take it off. Mineral Spirits. According to the supervisor of the detail area at the prison. it can be used anywhere on the car except for the carpet.

I know this is old, but Mineral Spirits? I've been told wd-40 works good if you soak it a lil while

And I know this is old as well... Not sure I'd use anything like mineral spirits on a painted surface...  Goo-B-Gone makes a specific automotive product that works wonders. Apply it in the shade on a cool surface. Ask me about my neighbors and their $%#@&^! trees...  _________________ Racing is life.
