Bad news.
I spoke with Tim De Young at the MFBA and it looks like more racing series have found there way to our best kept secret. Consequently,
they have no dates for next year.
In fact, their club is "going through some changes" and they may not even pursue anything else like that again.
This is a very sad day. Their events were fun and "loose" enough where riders could go along.
Most of the other clubs I've found do not allow this, you have to buy at least an associate membership and only other drivers or instructors can ride along. Only a year away from my son's sixteenth birthday too.
As most of you know, I really live for these events. I've been attending with my son since he was just a little guy and he has taken some great pictures and always looks forward to going. The camaraderie of the other drivers, including Jack Tertaidian, the IA Mafia and members who have come from as far away as PA, the fun we've had, will surely be missed.
So, I guess we'll need to suck it up and partner with someone else.
I understand next year's list should come out soon.
I don't think I can do the CARC club event this October for many reasons, which is killing me and Zack, but that's just the way this @#$%^&! year has gone. He finally got his new camera too.
I guess I'll have to save more to buy more parts and plan on higher admission fees.
For those that have never been or don't know, our cars were made for this. With the right minimal set up, they are a force to be reckoned with on this road course.
I've had the pleasure of passing all kinds of other cars like Viper's, Ferrari 430's, Porsche 911's, C-4's, C-5's, C-6's -- and the list goes on. We all started in Novice and worked our way up.
I was very excited to finally be near my 2G brake conversion, but that looks like it may dwindle this year into next as well.
This past year can move on now at any time as far as I'm concerned. But I digress...
