I put in a request off...but it was much later than is normally acceptable. I'll find out tomorrow how that goes.

It doesn't really affect the turn out for Curt as it is pretty much the locals that don't have plans to drive to MN anyways. As far as plans, well. I have a nissan 300ZX turbo in my garage that I sort of inherited. It's currently on jackstands with the rear end hanging by a few bolts that are seized and won't come out. So, I can't work on cars "in the garage" but if anyone has anything they want to do to their cars, just let me know and I'll see if it's possible in the driveway. Other than that, just show up Saturday if you want to. I will be suppling the first case or two of beer. I will be suppling the burgers, brats, hot dogs, and potatos and corn. I have gotten suprisingly decent at cooking on the grill as well, so there is very little need to worry about food posioning. I still have my stock pressure tester and what not, so if anyone needs that, its all good. I will be working on the Z all day, so let's say if you want show up as early as 10 am, and it will go as late as nessicary. We have one open bed, and a few couches and a good deal of floor space for anyone who gets to tipsy to drive home. Address is 2610 Mary Jo Court Green Bay WI 54311 I will have the Stealth and the Benz parked on the street to help everyone find it. If you have ever posted under the screen name Drkgreen'anything' you need not show up. Adam

Would it be OK if I bring my friend Brandon? He has a Supra now, but he used to have a VR-4.

I'm in the middle of bamboozling coworkers into taking shifts for me to make this happen. I get done with work at 3 on saturday, but have to be in at 6am on sunday as it stands. If I can get one of these guys (we only have 6 people in my severly understaffed dept right now) to switch with me I will be able to make it.

Its still in poor taste, especially when I've made an even bigger effort this year to get more W3SI guys to come.

curt_gendron wrote: Its still in poor taste, especially when I've made an even bigger effort this year to get more W3SI guys to come. well, I've been struggling with other stuff going on in years past both personal, and other events going on, and if you want to whine like a little girl, then tell me what is a good date for you for people to come to my house? I try to wait until everyone has dates set up, and I know what is going on in my personal life, and then get blasted for it all the same. either for late notice or "poor taste" for interfering with an event happening a state away. I started this gathering as a get together for the w3si guys to get together in August because we did not have anything on the schedule then. I put my personal home and tools out for use, along with get the food and some drink. I don't purposely say "hey, my shit is cooler than Curt's you should come hang out with me." In fact, I'm usually pretty clear about the whole, "show up if you want, it's low key, and close." Which is why it's an "unsanctioned" event to begin with. If people are going to take so much offense to it, well, I don't have to do it. Just delete the thread, and put something in the events thread about it being canceled. I'll be in my garage working on cars either way. If people want to show up... well, that's why its an unofficial gathering. Or not even that anymore. If anyone wants to come over and talk about / work on cars, eat some food and drink some beer fine. But I guess it's not a gathering. whiskey tango foxtrot.

There is nothing wrong with having an event at your house, its awesome that you take the time to do it. W3SI needs more events.
I know the powers that be declared that your event is "unofficial" and its been a long running joke, but if you invite W3SI members over its pretty official. Lets face it, there really is no such thing as "official" or "unofficial" events, they are just events put on by car enthusiasts. None of us are real corporations with legal teams, we are just a bunch of people who like cars.
My only point is I'm trying like hell to grow the All Mitsu Weekend. I've got over 30 people signed up to come from states other than Minnesota. I consider it a regional event. Unfortunetly there are only a couple W3SI guys coming, and I was hoping for more. Having an event in Wisconsin for W3SI members on the same weekend, doesn't help my cause.
Hopefully, next time, we can avoid event conflicts like this. And maybe some more W3SI members will get out there to some events.
later, Curt

ok, guys. this is NOT a problem. I would not go to MN either way. (car is getting painted). I'm sure others will not go cuz its not that close/gas is not cheap yet. so for those who don't feel like driving/can't afford to drive 300+ miles, these will be closer even in Green Bay. this is not about where is better. for me where ever is more 3/S owners than better. and I'd love to be at All Mitsu weekend in MN, but I just can't make it there. and I wish Green Bay gathering would be the weekend after, but host is setting dates. if somebody else wants to host gathering. go right ahead.
